Magic and Bending~ Chapter 38

    "Who are you?" Sokka asked, raising his blades as though he were about to attack.

"I am Y/n. This is Gray and Natsu, we are from the guild Fairy Tail. And this is Lyon of the guild Lamia Scale. This is Happy and this is E/n. I don't know what the 'Fire Nation' is but we are not from there." The group still remained suspicious of my response. When no one said anything, I moved to walk away but was stopped by a boy in red and yellow jumping in front of me. He was balk and had blue arrow tattoos covering his body.

    "Move." I snarl, but he hardened his gaze in determination.

    "No." Was all he said.

    "Who do you think you are?" I growl, my patience running thin.

    "I am Aang. I am the avatar!" He responded proudly. My anger melted a tiny bit as I took a step back.

    "The what?" Natsu asked, voicing my thoughts.
    "The Avatar?" Sokka spoke, as though it were obvious. "The one person who can bend all elements? The person supposed to create peace in the world?" My team stared at them in confusion.

    "Who are you?" Katara says in disbelief.

    "Just some people trying to get to our destination." I said and attempted to walk away again, only to have a fire ball shot at the bush in front of me. I stopped and spun around in search for who did that. I was met with the glaring eyes of Zuko, with a ball of fire in his hands.

    "Fire Dragon Claw!" I exclaim, launching flames at Zuko, only to have Aang somehow use a strong wind to blow it off its course towards Zuko. I angrily ripped my hood off and stomped towards Zuko.

    "I dare you to do that again." I seethe, as I get in his face. He leans back in surprise and his cheeks grow pink. I turn to face everyone else. "The next person to attack will become ashes in seconds. We will talk and clear this confusion." Aang nodded in agreement and had us follow him to where his team had set up camp. There, we found tents, a fire pit, a lemur, and a large, sleeping bison the size of two cars.

    Aang leaped on top of the bison's head and Katara sat on the ground, leaning against the bison. Toph and Zuko found rocks to sit on and Sokka remained standing. Natsu sat on the ground and Happy stood on Natsu's shoulder. Lyon and I stood side by side and E/n sat on my shoulder. Gray found a log to sit on.

    "Let's start this again. I am Aang from the Southern Air Temple. I am the Avatar. This is my flying bison, Appa and my lemur, Momo."
    "I am Katara, a water bender from the Southern Water Tribe."

    "I am Zuko, fire bender from the Fire Nation."

    "I am Toph, earth bender from the Earth Kingdom." As Toph was speaking, she stared straight ahead and never turned her head, leading me to believe that she was blind.

    "And I am Sokka, normal human from the Southern Water Tribe." Sokka was the last to introduce himself. I scanned my eyes over all of them before speaking.   

    "So what is the Avatar?" Katara took this chance to answer my question.

    "People are usually one of five things; air bender, earth bender, water bender, fire bender, or non bender. There is one person who can bend all four elements. They are called the Avatar and when an avatar dies, they are reincarnated into a new avatar. Aang here got caught in a storm and was pulled into the ocean and to keep himself alive he went into something called the avatar state. He froze the water around him into a sphere and 100 years later, Sokka and I found him. The world had no avatar for 100 years because Aang was missing but was still alive. " I stared at Katara in shock. My gaze jumped to Aang who was smiling cheekily.

    "And why did you assume we were from the Fire Nation?" Natsu inquired.

    Zuko opened his mouth to speak. "We saw Natsu wield fire, and for about 100 years, the Fire Nation has attacked all other nations of the world in an attempt to become the strongest nation and rule over everyone else. My father rules the Fire Nation, and I was banished for... reasons." I hum in understanding but I do not speak as I take a second to process all of this information.

    Sokka leans forward with a straight face and says, "If you aren't Fire Nation, who are you?" It was obvious that Sokka was very suspicious of our group.

    "I am Lyon Vastia of the Lamia Sca-"

    "Yes, yes we heard you say before you are from some kind of 'guild'." Sokka snaps, causing Katara to send a glare in her brother's direction. Gray takes a step forward and shoves his hands in his pockets.

    "We are not 'benders' or whatever. We are wizards from Magnolia." At Gray's announcement, Sokka deadpanned before he broke out laughing. He began rolling on the ground as he clutched his stomach.

    "WIZARDS?! BAHAHAHAHAHA! W-wizards! OH MY GOD! HAHAHA!" He hollered. His enjoyment caused Toph to laugh along with him. I glared at the boy in annoyance. I lit my hand aflame and threw the licks of fire at the boy, earning yells of alarm.

    "Yes, wizards. We were taught magic and now we are apart of guilds." I growl. Aang looks at me in awe as he jumps down from on top of Appa.

    "Wow! Wizards! That's so cool! So can you like turn someone into a frog or something?" Aang approached me, eyes shining bright with curiosity. I chuckle quietly and shake my head.

    "No, we aren't those kind of wizards. Natsu and I are dragon slayers and Gray and Lyon are Ice Mages." I tell the boy with a slight smile.

    "Dragon slayers?" Katara asks for an explanation, which I allow for Natsu to answer.

    "Y/n and I were found and adopted by dragons. In the past, dragons were split among those who wanted humans dead and those who wanted to protect humans. The latter often adopted human children and taught them dragon slayer magic that could be used in the war against the dragon who wanted to kill humans." Natsu says proudly.

    "Aye!" Happy chips in with a grin.
