Chapter Four - Alpha Jace

"We're dropping off Alexander next. Then you girls." Miss Black says.

We all just nod because clearly, we've had enough excitement for one say.

I turn to Alexander because Amelia fell asleep. "So, which pack are you pledging to?"

He grins at me then and says something I least expect. "The Alpha Pack."

I look at him and furrow my brows wondering what the hell is wrong with him. "You're actually properly insane."

He chuckles and winks at me then. "The Alpha doesn't have a beta and I want the position, if they'll have me that is."

"You mean if they don't kill you first." I mutter.

"Don't be dramatic." He rolls his eyes. "They're not that bad."

I throw him a blank expression and he blinks. "Okay, maybe they're that bad, but I have to atleast try."

I nod in understanding. "If anyone can get it, it's you."

When near the Alpha Pack's land, the first thing I notice is the lush green grass and endless trees. It's so pretty. Fae, are generally drawn to nature and life. We're connected to it. Though light fae are more so than dark fae. Or so I've heard. Personally, I've always loved it. So I don't know if that is true.

Just looking at all of the nature I can almost feel how happy these wolves are to be surround by it all. They're grateful. Appreciative.

I'm taken aback by how I know that just by looking at leaves. I glance at Amelia wide eyed. "Do you feel that?" I whisper to her.

When she turns to me tears are leaking from her eyes. She's happy because the earth is happy here. I smile at her gently.

"Be ready." Miss Black says. "We don't have all day."

"You know, her voice is really starting to annoy me." Amelia says and I laugh.

"You do know that you're supposed to be light fae right?" I tell her. "If it wasn't for your angelic features I'd swear you are a dark fae."

She scoffs then, grabbing a fist full of her super light hair. "Yeah well, if I was dark fae atleast we'd be able to stay together."

"Agreed." I say grabbing her hand and settling back into my seat as the plane begins it's descent.

The moment we land I feel a sense of calm run through me. Yes, The Academy is in the middle of nowhere for privacy reasons so we could practice and perfect our magic and skills without the prying eyes of the human world, but it was nothing like this.

I'm fairly certain I've never even seen grass this green before, so inviting and clean.

"Wow." Amelia breathes. "It looks even better up close."

I silently agree with her as we all get off the plane. I'm not gonna lie though, my shoulder hurts like a bitch. I turn to Alexander who begins to look increasingly pale as we notice two figures off in the distance. The emotion looks weird on a guy as big as him.

"Hey, you'll be fine." I tell him. "You got this."

He nods, strengthening his resolve and straightening himself out. "Okay."

"If they don't take you, I will kick their ass." I joke.

He smiles gratefully and I nod once.

"Alpha Jace." Miss Black greets him. Though it seems really strained. Oh right. Vampires are superior. I'm sure werewolves are nothing more than dogs to them.
