Chapter Fifteen - Going Back

It was six months later and our training was finally complete. Ironically, the Embassy have been receiving emails from all over saying things are going wrong.

So today, we're going back.

I glance at Amelia and Sierra. We've grown so much in the pass six months, as people and as warriors.

The training here was so much harder than I thought it was going to be. The first few weeks we were convinced they were trying to kill us.

Now, we all sport abs. Even Sierra. Things were rough for her at first. But she saw professionals who helped her get healthy after being starved all her life. She also learned to read and write and was much more confident in herself.

She got her long hair cut to her elbows and now looked like a new person. It was heartwarming to have witnessed.

"I'm actually going to miss it here." Sierra said as we glanced at the pristine room we all insisted on sharing.

"Yeah, me too." I tell her.

"Not me." Amelia walks past us and out of the large room. "I'm never walking up at 4 again."

Sierra and I glance at each before we burst out laughing and follow her.

My mood did a quick nosedive as we climbed in a cab together. The thought of seeing Alexander again made me sick and not in a good way. Would he have gotten Beatrice closer by now? I wouldn't be surprised. I just hoped I was over it enough to not react to whatever awaited me there.

As we boarded the plane Sierra texted her parents to let them know we were leaving and then we were off.

The entire flight through, Amelia kept throwing glances my way until I finally rolled my eyes at her. "What Amelia?"

"Are you going to be okay?" She asks.

I close my eyes and settle back into my seat. Alexander means nothing to me. He could be with whoever he wanted to be. I did enough for him. There was no way I was going to grovel at his feet and beg him to see my worth just because he is my mate.

"I'll be fine." I tell her. "I'm not going to be there long anyway."

"Yeah." She says. "I wish I could go with you."

I open one eye to peer at her. "The Dark Fae lands are no place for a Light Fae."

"But we're bonded!" She screeches. This is the same conversation we've been having ever since she found out I was going.

"Amelia, you know I need you at the Alpha pack. You need to be there in case Jace and Brett decide to make and appearance." I tell her and watch as she sighs. "But I'll try to get an invitation for you to come with me next time."

She grins at that.

As the plane lands I'm surprised to find that I feel nothing. I'm not nervous. I'm not sad. I'm not angry. I don't feel anything.

I let Amelia and Sierra go first as I slide my phone into my tight black jeans and follow along. My straight brown hair has grown to my hips which I surprisingly liked.

"Oh my God, Sierra!" Her mother exclaims and they rush to each other. Her father also joins in on the embrace.

My eyes flit over to Alexander who stands with his arm protectively around Beatrice. I keep my expression neutral. It's when my eyes find her bulging belly that I'm surprised. Well, that was quick.
