Chapter Seven - We Need Amelia
Turns out the plane landed on an airstrip about twenty minutes away from the Supernatural Embassy so we had to call a cab.
I almost laughed at the absurdity of it all. I had gotten shot with an arrow, slapped, clawed and thrown with orbs of light. Yet here I was, doing something as ordinary as riding in a cab.
When the cab finally came to a stop infront of the massive building I couldn't help but be surprised. Not only is it in the middle of a busy town but it is so modern looking, it could easily pass for an ordinary well off business. Knowing them, that probably was the cover story.
Honestly, I don't know what I was expecting. Maybe an underground top secret bunker in the middle of nowhere. Or a hush hush meeting on a bench where we didn't look at each other and spoke in code words. Not something so obvious.
Someone in the front handed us visitor's passes and accompanied us to the elevator. A female. Who kept throwing glances at Alexander.
A weird feeling crept into the pit of my stomach as I glanced at her. She is pretty. Light brown hair and expressive blue eyes. Werewolf, I guessed.
Alexander didn't seem to notice, and if he did he didnt seem to care but for the first time in my life I felt insecure about my own appearance.
Suddenly my beat up converse was the most interesting thing in the world but I was present enough to notice that we were going down rather than up.
Atleast it's underground. I was right about something.
As the elevator doors opened I blinked, adjusting my eyes to the bright lights that greeted us.
It was weird. Not only was everything blindingly white but there wasn't a single soul in sight.
We walked to the end of a long corridor where the female, who I'm now calling experiment 005, punched in a series of numbers in fast succession before pressing her hand to the grid pad next to it.
The door opened to reveal a large room with four seats against the far wall. They were all occupied. Three males and one male.
Experiment 005 quickly saw herself out after bowing formally, for which I was very relieved. Though we took that as our cue and bowed as well.
"State your case." The light skinned male at the very end spoke. He's light peculiar features made him stand out amongst the others. He was almost paler than the vampire sitting next to him. But it was his long, white hair that stood out most to me. It was so long that it touched the floor on either sides of his chair. Clearly he is a Light Fae. If that isn't enough for you, then the glare he is sending my way should be.
So much for an unbiased trial.
"I am Constance Black, from the Academy of South, and these are my two students who've recently become of age." She said gesturing to towards us. "Alexander and Hailey."
I didn't know if I was supposed to say hi so I settled for saying nothing at all.
"And what is your case?" The only female among the chair spoke. She is gorgeous. Beautiful light amber eyes and wavy blonde hair. Werewolf, I figured.
Alexander nudged me and glared at him, only to find him looking at me weirdly. When I got the message I cleared my throat and stepped forward.
"We recently had an encounter with Alpha Jace of the Alpha pack." I say gesturing to Alexander. "Alexander wanted to apply for his Beta position but Alpha Jace lashed out unnecessarily."
I gesture for Alexander to lift up his shirt and he does, the angry red welts on display for them. I wince. It looks like it hurts. They all gasp so I turn back to them.
