I actually had this chapter done a while ago, but I just wasn't sure if it was what I wanted. But, here you go!
A couple hours earlier...
"Code red, Rin," Sylvia whispered harshly under her breath. "Code red, code red, code red."
Sylvia and Rin were taking care of the bar, making sure the bartenders didn't go berserk or ditch the job. Rin was in the back, cooking whatever food they ordered there. Sylvia was in front, taking care of the bartender job.
When Sylvia saw someone walk into the bar, she quickly set down the drink for another person and then whipped herself around.
He circled the tables, not paying attention to Sylvia. As soon as he walked in, the few people that were there left. Everyone knew who he was, and was afraid of his family.
She continue to whisper scream at her brother, "Code red code red code red code red."
Taking off his gloves, he nodded. They switched jobs, having Sylvia do the cooking and Rin the bartending.
The person sat down. Rin was in front of him. He set his forearms down on the counter, and asked, "what do you need, Greener?"
Greener smiled, in all his green headed arrogance, "Sylvia."
"I meant to drink," Rin's expression fell. As much as he wanted to, he couldn't kick him out of the bar. His father was the one who supplied most of the ingredients for the beer and wine.
That being said, Rin couldn't kick him out, but that he that didn't mean he had to be particularly kind to him. After all, Greener had been harassing his sister for years.
Elias, Greener's first name, demanded again. "I want Sylvia to serve me."
"Fricken nobles," Rin muttered under his breath. "Look, you're going to have to deal with me. Sylvia is sick today."
Sylvia was uncomfortable with Elias to begin with, but even if she was fine with him, Rin still hated his guts. He was old enough to be crowned king, while Sylvia was still in the middle of schooling. Which disgusted Rin. Not to mention the fact that he was arrogant and simply rude to everyone but the women he liked.
There were no laws about their family owning and working the pub, they just couldn't explicitly drink around guards. Still, Greener has tried more than once to get them in trouble for it. Storm, luckily, knew how to talk guards and nobles out of that.
That was something else to add about him. If Elias and Rin didn't get along, then Elias and Storm were absolutely livid towards each other.
In fact, Rin seemed to recall instances where one of of them were on the brink of death. Storm didn't enjoy seeing other people die in his hands, but he could care less about Elias. The last time one of them tried to kill another, Sylvia stopped the fight before one of them succeeded.
Elias's green eyes glared at Rin, "liar. She's behind that door." He eyed the door that lead to the kitchen.
Before Rin could say something else, Elias grabbed his hair and pulled him forward. Rin hadn't hadn't grown in a while, so it was painful to have his ribs dig into the wooden counter.
"Bring Sylvia, now," he ordered.
"Do you want something to drink, or not?" Rin groaned. His scalp felt like it was on fire, and his ribs were already sore.
Sylvia heard a loud thump from the main area. She knew that Rin was trying to protect her, but there was no need for him to be in pain for it.
She burst through the door and saw the scene. Elias held Rin down by his hair. She swallowed.
