|Chapter 12| The Guardians

Okay putting that music video up there because I'm currently watching the 2019 version of Dororo and am absolutely in love. I haven't been interested in anything like Boku No Hero Academia or Attack on Titan but this anime has dragged me in.

I've also seen nothing but good about this remake so definitely recommend it!

"I'll turn myself in."

"Nashi-"

Nova was cut off by Storm. "No, you're not."

"If it's to get your siblings back, I will," Nashi stood up. "This is all because of me anyways."

Storm stood on his feet as well, "you're not going to do it." They made eye contact.

Nashi frowned before asking, "and why not?"

"Because its not your problem."

"What do you mean its not my problem?" She ran her hands through her hair out of anger, "I started this whole thing!"

"Its not your problem because its his!" Storm stepped back and gestured to the forest with one hand, as if that gave the girls a clear answer.

"Gale's not the only one who lied here," Nova pointed out. She still sat on the leafy ground.

She felt betrayed. Gale didn't trust Reiki the moment they had the reunion, but she did. She stood by Reiki, and the fact that both of them kept secrets that should've been shared hurt her.

"Not them," Storm explained. "Gray."

The two stayed silent. There were obviously strong feelings that Storm held for his father.

"How is it his fault?" Nashi asked.

Storm scoffed before answering, "if he hadn't been a bloody liar, then we wouldn't be in this mess. All he had to do was tell me the truth about everything, then you would know you were the princess, and hell, you would even get your throne back from your uncle!"

Nova finally got up from her spot and muttered, "you always find a way to blame your father. Gale and Reiki lied to our faces." She stalked off without saying another word.

"You don't know that that would change anything," Nashi said, ignoring Nova walking away. "If I give up, then you could get your sister and brother back!"

Storm opened his mouth to form a retort, but was interrupted before he could say anything.

"No one is doing anything," Reiki exclaimed from the trees.

"Like we're gonna-"

"We are going to find my sister first," Reiki interrupted again. He became visible for Nashi and Storm, with Gale behind him. Nova went missing momentarily, however.

"Reiki," Nashi muttered, "she's..."

"No, she's not. Our family doesn't believe in mourning for the dead because of the fact that our family doesn't completely die," Reiki explained. His voice was so confident and strong, Nashi was almost entranced by it.

But if Rosemary wasn't dead, then where was she?

"She resides in your weapon, princess," he continued. "She'll never get her body back, but her soul lives."

Nashi was momentarily annoyed by the term "princess", but ignored that fact.

"What does that mean for getting Rin and Sylvia back, then?" Storm jumped in.

Reiki stayed silent for a couple seconds, then turned to Gale to ask, "who's that?"

After an eye twitch, he answered, "its his brother and sister, moron."
