Tyler sat in a chair, hooked up to a machine that produced a picture of his brain on a screen. His expression was blank as he stared off at nothing, rarely blinking. Whatever dr. Hassen had given him made him almost completely numb to his surroundings.
Dr. Hassen was showing josh and his mother exactly where Tyler's brain was underdeveloped or overdeveloped, he showed the major problem areas and deformities. Dr. Hassen sighed. "Hes always been aggressive and angry towards anything and anyone. He only talked when he needed to.... theres something about you that he likes though, I've never seen him that way with someone." Dr. Hassen spoke to Josh.
"Hes like that with all of us." Josh said. Momma dun nodded in agreement. "Really? That's very surprising. " dr. Hassen said turning to Tyler. He knelt in front of him "what is it about them that you like so much hm?" He asked. Tyler didn't move, he looked dead honestly, the only way they knew he wasnt because you could see his chest move as he breathed deeply.
Dr. Hassen sighed. "I understand why you guys are concerned about him being here. If it was up to me he would have been put up for adoption when he was a baby... no one wanted him though, they didnt want the responsibility of looking after someone so high matanince." He said.
".. if someone were willing to would he get to leave here?" Josh asked. "I mean I guess.. he would have to make weekly visits though so we can monitor him and try to help his condition yknow?" Dr. Hassen replied. Josh looked to his mom.
"Well we'd be happy to do that." She said. Dr. Hassen raised his eyebrows. "Really?" He asked. "Of course. Tyler's apart of the family now, hes a great kid, we all love him." She said. Josh nodded, ready to get down on his knees and beg this man to allow it.
"Then I suppose that I can make arrangements." He said. Josh smiled widely, and stood up to hug the man, thanking him over and over. Tyler was brought back to his room for the time being while dr. Hassen worked out the papers and all that.
After a few hours of stress and compromise the dun family had finally gotten the okay for Tyler to stay with them. They had to come back to the hospital every Thursday so they could work with Tyler though. Tyler might not be too thrilled about that part, but they all agreed he needs to do it so they can help him.
By the time they were ready to go Tyler was asleep. Josh carried him out to the car and into the house once they arrived. They went up to Josh's room and Josh laid down with him until he woke up.
When he did he looked around in confusion before spotting josh. "Safe?" He asked. "Yeah ty you're safe." Josh smiled. Tyler instantly hugged him, kissing josh cheek dozens of times. Josh smiled widely.
After Tyler was done he told Tyler that they had to go talk with mom so he carried the boy downstairs and sat him on the couch. Momma dun explained everything to him, about why he was here and why the experiments were done in the first place and that he does have to go back every week.
Tyler sat trying to wrap his brain around the fact that his brain wasnt developed properly and that the experiments were never to hurt him. No one could read whether or not Tyler was upset or angry or okay with it all, his expression was unreadable.
He looked at Josh and blinked a few times before looking away and nodding once. They still couldnt tell how he felt about the information but they knew he accepted it. "Food?" He asked, looking at momma dun. "You want food?" She asked. "Food." He said.
She stood up and kissed his forehead. "Okay." She said before heading to the kitchen. Tyler got up and followed, josh watched him carefully, following as well, not sure what he was doing. The boy stood in the middle of the kitchen as momma dun started making mac and cheese.
