"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
Arriving at the local bank, Peter landed on the sidewalk in front of the door and jogged right in, already seeing Yuri and a couple other officers inside. "Hey Yuri, I got here as fast as I could. What did I miss?""Nothing." She simply answered, her hands resting on her hips and let out a frustrated breath, turning her attention away from the broken glass that came from the window to the masked hero that stood a couple feet away from her. "No money was stolen."
"What?" Peter's eyes widened slightly, "She didn't take any money? Like at all?" Yuri nodded her head and kicked around some of the glass shards with the heel of her shoe. "Yup. From what we got from the security footage, Shadow just broke the glass window to set off the alarm and ran off."
"Why would she do that?" Peter asked out loud, mostly to himself. "I don't know. Maybe she's just toying with us?" Yuri guessed.
"Detective?" One officer called out, approaching his boss with what appears to be an index card in his hands. He handed Yuri it and Peter watched as a smirk grew on her lips and she let out a sarcastic chuckle before handing it him. Peter took the card in his hands and read what was on it, "Hey there Spider, we need to talk. You know where to find me. -Shadow" noticing that there was also a small drawing of a spider on the corner of the card.
"That's why she did this," Peter thought aloud, "She knew this would get my attention and I would come here." "So she's just playing with you?" Yuri questioned before laughing lightly. "Where can you find her?"
"She usually stays around the area after she does something.....illegal. I'm sure I can find her." Peter said, stuffing the index card into his hoodie pocket. "Are you going to need backup?" "Nah, I can handle her." Peter scoffed, shaking his head.
"Are you sure," Yuri smirked, crossing her arms over her chest as she gave an 'are you joking' look. "From what I heard on the news and from other officers, she got away from you.....multiple times." "Hey!" Peter rolled his eyes, obviously offended at his partner's words. "She didn't get away, I let her go. There's a difference."
"Okay," Yuri raised her hands up in defense, smiling at the young vigilante. "Go on, do your thing." Peter gave Yuri one last nod before running out of the local bank and firing his webs up at the building's roof across the street. Swinging himself up, he landed on the ledge in a crouch position, his eyes staring down the block, scanning the numerous buildings' rooftops, trying to find the black and purple suit wearing girl. "Okay Shadow, where are you?" He asked out loud to no one in particular.
"Finally you're here." Peter jumped at the sound of someone whispering in his ear, whipping his head around to face none other than Shadow herself. "I was getting impatient." She smirked, sitting on top of one of the air conditioning units that was on the roof. "What do you want Shadow?" Peter asked, crossing his strong arms over his chest as he stared unenthusiastically at her. "I want to talk about a partnership. Between us."
