"The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice."

Rosie felt chills go down her spine for the entire first half of the school day, ever since the conversation she had with those three women in the girls' bathroom.

After that confusing conversation, Rosie left those three women and went to her first period where she expected things to go back to normal.  That was until she entered the classroom and her eyes instantly met someone else's, someone she has never seen before.

Nathaniel Ryder, is who the pair of eyes belonged to.  Rosie heard Mary Jane say he was new student to Midtown and for whatever reason, whenever their eyes, a tingling sensation would form in the pit of her stomach and goosebumps would be made on her arms.

It was lunch period now and when Rosie entered the cafeteria, alone with Peter and their friends, her eyes immediately found his, who was already staring at her.  "Come sit down with us.  We need to talk." His voice echoed in her head.  "Hey, I'll be right.  Okay?" Rosie gave a warm smile to Peter.  "Okay." He nodded, smiling back.

Peter's eyes followed Rosie's figure, his smile instantly dropping when he saw her walk over to the table that the two new students were sitting at, one of them being that guy in their first two periods that couldn't take his eyes off from Rosie.  "Come on Peter," He turned his gaze away from his girlfriend and towards his best friend, Ned.  "They have lasagna today!" He grinned widely, pulling him towards the lunch line and out of his sight of Rosie.

"You're Rosalinda Keyes, right?" The boy asked as soon as Rosie came up to his table.  "Just Rosie, is okay." She corrected.  "I'm—"  "Nathaniel Ryder, I know.  You're in my first and second period." She interrupted him, feeling some sort of weird feeling in the pit of her stomach, one that she couldn't describe, not knowing if it was a good or bad feeling.  "You can call me Nathan, never liked Nathaniel," He shook his head and then motioned his hands towards an older girl that was sitting beside him.  "And this is Rochelle."

"I'm guessing you guys are Shadows since you can read my mind." Rosie whispered, not wanting to get anyone's attention or letting anyone hear them. The two teens sitting in front of her let out a short laugh, shaking their heads. "We can't read minds," Nathan started, but then pointed his index finger towards Rochelle, "She can though. No, Shadows are all connected to each other. We can communicate with through our minds, if we want to." He explained, pointing towards his head when he said minds. "That's cool." Rosie gaped, "So I'm guessing you guys are the help Nora was talking about."

"We're apart of it." Rochelle said, "You're coming with us after school by the way." "Wait, I am?" Rosie questioned, staring at the two teens confusingly. "You are." Nathan confirmed, grinning at Rosie.

From across the cafeteria, Peter was sitting at another table with his friends, completely ignoring the conversation they were having since his entire concentration was on Rosie and the two other teens. He was trying to listen in on their conversation with his heightened senses but with all of the different conversations going on, he wasn't able to. "Sup, Penis Parker!" Someone yelled into his ear, that voice belonging to none other than Flash Thompson, the only student at Midtown that made Peter's life hell. "Why is your girlfriend sitting with some other guy? Did she finally realize what a complete loser you are and found someone better?"
