"Secrets are made to be found out with time."
Rosie had her eyes focusing down on her feet as she walked on the old, cracked sidewalk, music blasting in her ears from her phone. Every tiny movement she did with her wrist caused a quick, sharp pain to shoot through her arm but went away after a couple seconds.
As Rosie's music cut off her connection to the real world, flashbacks of what happened last yesterday began flashing through her mind.

The sound of the audience's laughter came from the tv, as Rose watched some random sitcom show while she did her physic's homework. "Come on Rosie. Think!" She scolded herself as she reread the same question the fifth time.
The loud bang of the apartment's door caused the young girl to jump out of fright, feeling her blood run cold and her skin turn pale as her eyes landed on her father's limping figure, a briefcase in one hand while the other held a beer bottle. "Where's my dinner?" He asked in a demanding tone, his words slurring out.
"I—It's not ready." She simply answered, feeling her body jump again and her hands tremble as her father threw his beer bottle at the wall, shattering on impact, glass shards and liquid remains of the substance scattered on the ground. "What?" His voice full of rage.
Rosie slowly stepped back, feeling her heart beating out of her chest. "It's—It's just that you said you'd be home around nine so I thought I—I could get some homework d-done before making your dinner and it's only f-five." She stuttered, her head hanging low and her breaths getting caught in her throat when she saw the shadow of her father standing in front of her.
"What...did...you...just...say?" He questioned, each word sounding more venomous. "I-I can m-make it now—" Suddenly, Rosie was knocked on the ground, wincing as she felt the entire right side of her face go numb from her father's hand making contact with her cheek. "Go! Now!"
Rosie quickly got up on her feet and literally sprinted to the kitchen, grabbing the frozen steak and broccolis out of the freeze and began to cook it.
After preparing the food, she placed the plate onto the dining table, along with another beer, knowing that is the only thing he drinks now. Anthony walked over to the table, literally pushing his daughter out of the way, causing her to stumble a bit. He sat down, taking his fork and knife, cutting a piece of the steak and popped it in his mouth. Rosie watched carefully as he ate but she felt her heart drop and fear surround her when she saw her father spit the piece of steak out of his mouth, shooting up from his chair. "What the fuck is this shit?! Are you trying to kill me?!"
"W-what? No, of c-course not." The fragile brunette girl stuttered as she slowly backed away, her father instantly noticing it. "Where do you think you're going?!" He exclaimed, his hand reaching out and roughly grasped Rosie's hair, a small whimper slipping from her lips. "Make me a different meal!" He ordered, ripping his hand away from her by pushing her back, causing Rosie to slam into a glass cabinet that was used to store Anthony's alcoholic beverages.
