Ryle's POV:
"How much more time will it take Allon. How far is it now?" I ask for the fifth time.
"It's up there, just a minute or two more." She reply.
I check the time in my phone and it's already too late. We have been driving for what seems like so much time. I even tried layken's number from my phone and it's powered off. That's the only number that Allon has.
With every minute passing my heart beats faster and faster because I cannot stop thinking of the very possible possibilities that can occur and then her phone being off, no arrival of her seems to make the situation even more complicated and dangerous.
Just when I am thinking of all the positive and negative possibilities Allon turn off the engine while opening her door and Ridge does the same and when I look up I notice that we have already pulled up in the parking area and just in front of my eyes is a very big and a well-furnished white house and without even taking a peek inside one can guarantee that the inside of it is even more beautiful. Outside the house two cars are parked as well.
So much money, yet no one knows about the troubles going in there.
I am still looking at the area around me while getting out of the car when Ridge speaks "what should we do now? Ring the doorbell? What do you both say?"
"We came all this way up here not to just stand outside and stare at this house. Of course that's the only thing that we can do." Allon replies. "You pulled up a very vague and a brilliant joke Ridge, by the way." I join her in.
We both are walking our way towards the front door when we hear the loud sirens coming closer and closer and just when our heads turn to look where the cops are heading two police officers step outside their car.
"Who are you all? And what are you doing here?" one of the tall and broad inspector ask getting out of the car and obviously without looking at me but when he finally does, he say "Ryle? Ryle Kincaid? What are you doing here?"
"well this is actually the house where my friend layken's mother lives and since she is not returning the calls and even didn't arrive home so we are just-" I am still left on my sentence when the other inspector stepped in and start blabbering all the words at once making it real difficult for us to catch up. "Well we received a call there was this girl on line but then maybe something happened that she dropped the phone and the next things that we heard were the screams and shouts."
Hearing these words my heart picked up the speed and starts to beat even faster. Allon who is standing right next to me covers her mouth with her hand. And the next second the other three officers' step out of the car as well in a rush and without ringing the bell two of them walk to the front door one of them saying "we have no time. "And with all the force break the door that open with a loud thud. The sound was more than that of the lightning hitting it hard.
We were still taking in the situation but without wasting a single second even we walk to the inspectors who have now taken out the guns and are walking their way inside the house. We follow them in.
The house is all clean and tidy. We continue walking in but then hear the footsteps of someone running and just then by following it we enter the living room and if it is possible to say that my world breaks in two. I would say that it broke into more pieces than that as my eyes land on layken who is lying helpless on the floor by the side of the table. Blood is coming out of her head, her nose, her mouth and everywhere. She is managing to open her eyes but again she is hapless.
