The moon is full
As the night draws close
-
The solstice has come
The longest night of the year
-
The stars are shining down
Look, a comet there!
-
And then,
The dawn comes
-
The rising sun
Glowing over the land
-
Streams of gold
Twisting through the sky
-
And at one house
A candle's lit
-
Glowing through the night
Shining through the dark
-
The sun is rising
And the candle blows out.
-
It has stood there
In place of the sun
-
Shining through the night.
Keeping the dark away
-
But now, the sun has come
Back from the place it goes at night
-
And with streams of gold
Dancing in the dawn
-
The dawn has come
The light has returned.
