I am powerless
One in a million they say
To be born without
A speck of magic flowing in me

Before the war
I still can't remember
Her last words

I was alone
I had no where to go
So I joined the fight
Someone who could hold a sword

They came after us
We moved,
Place to place
Never stopping long.

There was a women
In my squad
I think she called her self
Aisha.

One day, we were speaking
The building shook
Someone shouted
It came crumbling down.

Trapped underneath stone blocks
I knew I would die.
Aisha, she looked me in the eye
The two of us, trapped in rubble
-
I remember her saying something
That I have now forgotten
But she touched my hand
It felt like fire
-
When I woke, all was dark.
I pulled myself out under the block
I knew I should be broken
Maimed, injured
-
But somehow that day
I lived
