Daniel and you were both in a movie. The two of you were a couple that had been together for a long time and were going to end things. In real life, it had been nearly three years since you started dating.
"Are y'all ready for this?" The director called to out to you both. You and Daniel were less then a few meters apart and shot each other a smile.
"I love you." You mouthed to him.
"I love you too." He mourned back.
"Breakup scene in three, two, one, action!" The director called out.
"That's it? After one argument you want to call it quits?" Daniel raised his voice.
"Jackson think about it. This isn't the only argument we've had, in fact, ever since you left for that conference in Miami." You sighed, taking a sip of your fake alcohol.
"You and I both know I went to that conference for us to keep this goddamn roof over our heads. We are not ending things Nelly!" He shouted.
"Are we not? Because I'm done." You had to admit, it actually hurt you to do this scene, it just felt realistic.
"We are not doing this." Daniel walked closer but you stepped back.
"I think it's time I let you go. And that's so hard for me to do because some part of me will always be in love with you for the rest of my life. But the daydreaming, the running in place, it's not healthy. So this is me, cutting the cord. This is me doing what I should have done months ago, I'm saying goodbye" You said calmly before heading out of the fake door.
"And scene!" The director called. The 'fake tears' turned into real ones.
"Hey, hey, hey, babe why are you crying?" Daniel rushed over in panic. He wrapped his arms over you.
"That felt so real Dani." You sniffled.
"Never in a million years will that be real. You did amazing back there." He reassured you, slightly laughing at the state you had gotten yourself into.
"You promise?" You looked up at him.
"I promise. Now let's go get some food, I'm hungry."
