Does It Work?

We walked to the park Shikamaru turned on his camera and said he would record when we got on the trails. We all agreed and surprisingly Sasuke seemed to be almost as excited as I am. Which is weird, maybe because he doesn't do anything ever?

"Alright! Lets follow this path" Everyone agreed and we made our way through the park past the swing sets and on to the trail. Sasuke Kiba and I were in the front leading the group. I didn't think Sasuke would want to be in the front. He must just want to walk next to me, wait—no.

Shikaramu was taking pictures of us and the group, I guess this could also be used as now we are making new friends. That's so much fun!

"Naruto!" Kiba shouted I looked over at him and he had an old rusted children bike.

"Wow, is it frozen or can we still use it?" I walked over to the bike, the peddles still moved but the chain is off. Easy fix.

"Lets ride it" Kiba shouted, yes!

"let me fix it" Kiba gave me the bike and I grabbed a stick, I put the chain back on and tried my best to tighten it though I don't know how well it will work.

"Okay! Lets find a hill, we can take turns" I said. Everyone shouted out in excitement, this is why we're friends. Neji and Gaara looked at each other. Gaara seemed just as excited to do this where are these guys from? Did they even have a childhood.

I looked over at Sasuke, he wasn't there I turned around. He was crouching next to a tree. Everyone continued on a head.

"Sasuke" I said as I walked over to him, he didn't look up at me I crouched down next to him.

"Look, its a mouse" I looked closer at the small indent in the tree roots, he was the smallest thing I've ever seen. I looked at Sasuke, his eyes showed remorse and sadness.

"I doubt it'll make it through the winter" Sasuke slowly nodded his head he looked so sad

"I'm gonna take it" Sasuke took his gloves out of his pocket and put one on. "Are you sure you should do that? It's kind of gross" Sasuke didn't answer me he continued to pick up the baby mouse until he held it. The poor thing was shaking.

"After were done, I'll bring it to my house I'll ask Kakashi and he'll look at it" I nodded my head not like I could stop him. He looked like a little kid, he wanted to keep the little mouse. It was honestly the cutest thing I've ever seen.

"Can I see it?" I asked, Sasuke stood up and I followed him he held out his palm and the little mouse was just laying there shaking.

"Are you actually going to keep it?" It seems so unlike him, maybe I don't know anything about him. Maybe no one does.

"Yeah, I'll get him a little cage and food. Want to help?" I looked him in the eyes he seemed so genuine and sincere, his usual tone was replaced with Sasuke. This is who he is, this is how he talks to Kakashi and his servants when no one is around.

"Yeah" I smiled a small smile I could feel my face turn red, why did I have to get partnered with Sasuke? Why couldn't he just be the asshole I thought he was?

Sasuke carefully put the mouse in the top pocket on his jacket, "We have to name him" Sasuke said.

"Why? Name him after we know he'll live" Sasuke shook his head.

"No, we have to name him just in case he doesn't make it. Everyone needs a name." I wonder how many people Sasuke has lost in order to think the way he does?

"You should name it, he's your mouse" It seemed like a sentence you would laugh at after saying it, but it wasn't. This was serious to Sasuke which means it has to be important to me. Why? I don't know.
