Chapter 1

Amber's point of view 

I love it when the day is so beautiful as today. Some people may argue with me but this is my kind of day. The sun is shining but it is not too hot. It mildly warms my cheeks and I revel in its pleasant touch. The warmth and joy are spreading through my whole body. It is such an amazing feeling, like being one with nature. The gentle wind is blowing my hair everywhere but I don't mind it. It somehow manages to soothe me and help me feel free. Free of all the obligations and restraints. Spreading my wings and flying away from everything, free as a bird. Flying above the clouds, reaching higher and higher...

Once more, I am harshly brought back to the reality of my mundane obligations. What was I supposed to buy in the store, I already forgot. Hm, let me think bread, coffee... and ... I can't remember. Ah, well I'll remember when I see it in the store. Did I pack everything that I need for tomorrow's trip...? Let me see, clothes, cosmetics... I prepared money for the trip; the tickets are in a visible place... Oh, I should probably call Jade when I get home to check if I am forgetting something. This trip is going to be amazing!! I can't wait! My first trip ever! Will I be sick on the ship? Knowing me, I probably will, so I better buy some anti-nausea pills... Huh, how did I manage to buy all of this when I didn't even pay any attention to the store items? Did I forget something? I have a feeling that I forgot something. Oh, well, mum will understand that I am too excited about the trip to worry about the regular stuff. Look at the sky! How beautiful it is. Its color is so fascinating, light blue with fluffy clouds for decoration. It looks like a picture of a fantasy land and not like something you would be able to see in real life.

Ah, I better call Jade and confirm what we should take with us. I should also check where and when we will meet. I better tell her that we should meet at eight o'clock because she will probably be late and the ship leaves at nine. Wow, a twenty-day vacation abroad, how amazing is that! I am so excited! Did I pack my ID? Oh, yes it's in my wallet. Okay, I already double-checked everything, so I should just calm down. Breathe Amber! Breathe! Oh, hey I love this song. It's so lively and happy. Did I bring some music with me? Oh, yes I did but I guess they will have good music on the ship, as well. Hm, didn't they say we'll be passing near the Bermuda Triangle? How exciting and mysterious. I have always been fascinated by the unexplained phenomena. There are many strange occurrences around the Bermuda Triangle. What if we get lost in there? Well, if I remember correctly the brochure said that we will only be passing nearby, so there is nothing to worry about.

Oh, my gosh! We might even see some dolphins! I just love dolphins! They are so amazing! One night I even dreamed about dolphins, although I have never seen them in person. It was the best dream I ever had! I can still remember how amazing it felt to stroke the dolphin's sleek skin. Even though it was only a dream I could feel the texture of its skin as if it were real, it was kind of smooth and rubbery. I felt happier than I ever did before because there is something majestic and beautiful about those animals. People around me tell me that they never use the sense of touch in their dreams and that it was impossible for me to do so but I disagree. My dreams are much more vivid than other people's dreams, so I did feel the dolphin's wonderful texture and I hope to repeat that experience in real life, as well. Ups, I forgot to call Jade I better stop daydreaming and give her a call.
