"At first our relationship was going well. He was so kind and gentle towards me, that I thanked the lucky stars that I was careless enough to fall into the sea and that he was kind enough to rescue me and keep my secret.

We have been secretly seeing each other for a while before we decided that it was high time for our worlds to finally meet.

Since he could see how nervous I was about bringing a mortal to my magical home, he told me that it would be his honor to introduce me to his crew first.

At the time, I thought it was kindness, that he loved me so much that he wanted to tell everyone about us. Only later did I realize that he was just a good actor." Ci Nada went on with her story.

Avo Jana had become even more present in those moments giving her former friend all the support she could, and Amber couldn't help but wonder if their friendship was strong enough to be saved even after everything Ci Nada had done.

"Anyway, at the time, I was very excited. My wings kept fluttering, and I was jittery from the excitement. I was so naive that I even chose my best dress, wanting to leave a good impression on his crewmates, on his friends.

I was hoping for a perfect night of new friendships and fun tales. Never in my life could I have predicted what the winds of the future brought to me.

When I first arrived, I was impressed by how much effort they put into the party. The ship was cleaner than I had ever seen it and the crew was wearing their best clothes.

I was honored that they would do all that for me, that I was accepted by his friends even though I was different.

He approached me and with one long passionate kiss erased all my uncertainties. It was as if he was using the magic of his own to ease my worry.

The night was going splendidly, but I did find it strange that they insisted on me drinking some rather strong human beverages. Still, thinking those were normal human customs, and not wanting to offend them, I drank the foul liquid.

Although the taste was awful, it made me feel better, more relaxed, more confident. I let my guard down thinking that I was surrounded by friends, and needn't worry about anything.

Just in that moment of complete relaxation, when everything was warm and pleasant, he made his move.

"You are getting along with my crew splendidly, I am sure I will be as chummy with your friends. Why don't we go to that island of yours tonight? Why wait?" Calico said.

All my uncertainty was washed away, and I was certain that my friends would love Calico, he was kind and caring, and his crew seemed to be fun to spend time with. I could see no reason not to make the introductions immediately.

"I can't wait for you to meet all my friends, they will love you. Let's go." I said.

"Didn't you forget something?" He asked with a warm smile.

"Oh yes," I said.

Then, I raised my hands and lifted the magical barrier that hid the island from mortals. I found it odd that the moment I did so, Calico's smile changed it became something else, his smile at that moment reminded me of the one of a shark.

I was certain that it was the consequence of the strong liquor I had drunk since I wasn't used to it. I decided that it was probably just a terrible hallucination, nothing more, nothing less.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" I asked.

But I got no reply. No polite comment, no kind word, and that had a sobering effect on me. I started wondering if I did something wrong, if maybe I cast the wrong spell.
