After a hard day's work, they all met up in the most beautiful valley where all the magical creatures, that had been helping them out, were gathered as well.
They wanted to relax a bit and catch up on what they did during their one-day training session, but they could barely keep their eyes open. It was a very long day for all of them, and they were happy to have some time to just unwind and be present, here and now.
The aching muscles were proof enough that none of them had an easy day, and yet they wanted to connect, to listen to the others and their troubles and successes.Although they were worn out by the exhausting training, they were too curious and excited to fall asleep immediately, so they kept up an excited chatter deep into the night each one of them recounting his or her own training experience.
Often time the girls' excited exclamations of 'wow' and 'ah' were heard as well as the men's more contained versions of the said exclamations such as 'cool' and 'wicked'.
It was a once in a lifetime experience and all of them were eager to learn more, to be able to better comprehend what was possible and how their different powers could be developed and nourished with some help of the kind magical beings.
It felt like the first day of school, there was the same level of excitement and nervousness. Only it was much more difficult than that.
Their lives depended on their ability to learn to use their powers quickly and efficiently because one never knew when the darkness could arise again. When they finally did fall asleep, it was so sudden that they didn't even manage to settle down comfortably. They just dozed off as they were sitting which had never happened before they reached the island.
They were sleeping like logs and only woke up in the morning wrapped in the cold morning air and only upon hearing the commotion of the magical creatures that had spent the night there as well.
"What's going on?" Ignacio asked the lack of adequate anger control still present in his early morning self.
"Are we under attack?" Amber asked quickly scanning their surroundings for any signs of shadows, Ci Nada, or any other potential danger.Jade and Royce were the only ones to calmly assess the situation without jumping to conclusions.
Since they finished their first training session they seemed more rational, more in sync than they were, as if that one training session was one year's worth of training. It made them less prone to overreacting and more stable in a way that they were never before, not together, nor as individuals.
They finally manage to balance each other out without biting each other's heads off and it would have been a sight to behold if the others hadn't been so busy jumping to conclusions.
"Calm down my dears," Telet said.
"There is no imminent danger." She went on to say.
"Can't you hear it?" Avo Jana asked in a surprised voice. As they listened more closely, they could feel rather than hear a gentle shift in the air that was somehow pleasant and warm but also had a certain level of urgency to it.
There was a low buzzing sound that they couldn't really hear clearly or label it properly."Can't you hear the Call?" Lejanida wondered.
"I can only hear this kind of low buzzing, like billions of bees, are approaching," Royce said."You are still not one with nature. Only the ones who are in complete harmony with nature, who feel the nature as part of themselves, of their identity, can hear the Call." Lejanida said.
"I guess you have a lot more to learn. You are still like little cubs learning the rules of the world." Andar Sklea said.
"Hey, I got it! From now on, I will call you little cubs!" he said excitedly.Anger flourished like flowers in springtime on both Amber's and Ignacio's faces, but before either one of them had the chance to explode in a burst of fiery anger, Andar Sklea went on.
"You have a lot to learn, my dear cubs. Too bad we won't be here to help you out." He said.
"Wait a minute. You are leaving us all alone? What about our training? What if Ci Nada attacks again?" Amber asked.Too preoccupied with the new information, both she and Ignacio forgot to complain about being referred to as cubs. Having in mind what was being said at that minute being treated as children paled in comparison.
"No. We have to leave. The Call is calling us. Hahaha, see what I did there?!" he asks with childlike exhilaration.
Even in a moment as serious as that one, he was unable to control his playful nature.
The humans were too stunned by the information to react in any way to his awful joke. If it weren't for that, they would have probably scoffed at what he thought of as a good joke.Seeing that her husband wasn't helping the situation, Lejanida decided to have mercy on humans and explain clearly what was happening.
"The Call of Nature is for all the magical beings to return to the places they are bound to. It means we have spent too much time away and there are other duties awaiting us.
I am sorry but we must leave you now. However, don't worry you are in no danger. Ci Nada will not attack again, at least not yet. Even if she does, we will return in time to help." She said."But,..." Amber started but it was already too late.
Lejanida, as well as most of the other magical creatures, started slowly disappearing one by one."Follow the path that you have taken before, follow the path of your hearts," Telet, the fairy queen, said.
"What does that even mean?" Ignacio asked frustrated."That means to follow that feeling you have deep down in the very core of your being that told you that you had to climb that mountain, or simply take this path to your right and it will lead you further into our beautiful island.
Also, don't forget to continue training with each other, learning to develop your powers and to work in harmony with each other. It will be a very enlightening experience for you, I feel." She said before she disappeared as well."Well, that's just great!" Ignacio said thoroughly confused.
All of them just kept staring at the empty place which only moments ago was occupied by the magical creatures. They were stunned by the fact that they were once again on their own having no idea what they were supposed to do, what exactly their destiny was.
At least this time they had some powers to fend for themselves, and they were together which made going on a bit easier, safer.
"Well, we better start moving. We might as well follow the path and see what this island has to offer. On the way, we might even manage to figure out what we are supposed to do on this island." Royce said.
"I agree," Jade said.
A look of shock crossed his face that the two of them finally agree on something.
The others nodded their heads in agreement and together they headed off to another adventure.
