Daddy's Little Lucy

Chapter 6 - Dragon Plush

I remembered I never got a chance to give Lucy the red dragon plush. I whispered to Happy to fly to our house and get it. Hopefully that'll keep his mind off Carla for a while. He happily said "aye!" and immediately flew out of the guild.

"Why so sad Lucy?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around her. "Big scary man took Aunty Levy" Lucy replied. "Did the big scary man scare you?" I asked and she nodded her head while having her face buried into my chest. I'm going to punch Gajeel for scaring little Lucy when I next see him.

It didn't take Happy long to return to the guild with the dragon plush in his paws. "Here you go Natsu!" he said as he handed me the dragon plush. "Thanks Happy" I replied before hiding it behind my back. Lucy hasn't seen it as she still had her face buried into my chest. "Lucy, look at me" I cooed and she looked up at me with her big chocolate brown eyes. "I bought a gift for you" I said as I smiled brightly.

She looked at me curiously, wondering what it was and I revealed the dragon plush from behind my back. Her eyes sparkled as she saw it. She instantly grabbed the plush from my hands and hugged it. "Thank you Daddy!" she said happily, giving me a big hug. "You welcome Lucy" I replied with a big smile.

"See Gray! I told you Lucy will love it!" I shouted across to the guild. "Shut up Pyro, you're so damn loud!" Gray shouted back. "What did you call me Ice Princess?!" I shouted back, "You heard me Pyro!" he shouted back. We leapt at each other and punched each other in the cheek but neither of us wanted to go down first. We threw punch after punch until we felt Erza's presence. Without looking at her, we ran out of the guild running for our lives. As I ran I caught a glimpse of Erza chasing us behind us with a sword re-quiped into her hand. "She's got a sword!" I exclaimed, quickening my pace. Gray followed suit and matched my pace.

After running a marathon around Magnolia, Gray and I turned around to find Erza not chasing us anymore. We looked at each other and began laughing in relief as we collapsed onto the ground. Our relief was short lived as she appeared behind us and punched our heads hard causing everything to turn black.

"Dy... addy...Daddy!" I slowly woke up to Lucy calling my name while shaking my arm. Focusing on where I was, I recognised the guild's roof above me. Looking around, I noticed I was laying on the guild floor. As I sat up, I heard a groan beside me and noticed Gray waking up beside me. I guessed Erza dragged us back to the guild after knocking us out.

I felt someone stroking my head and turned to see Lucy stroking my head. "Daddy got a boo boo, pain fly away" she said, trying to ease my pain. "Thanks Lucy" I said with a smile and suddenly I heard a squeal. I turned to find Mira was the one who squealed and she had stars in her. "So cute!" she said happily with a big smile on her face.

Ignoring Mira's squeal, Lucy ran to a bar stool that her dragon plush was sitting on and brought it over to where I sat on the floor. "Daddy!" she said as she held out her dragon. "What is it Lucy?" I asked wondering what she wanted me to do. "Dragon like Daddy" she said, "I like dragons as well" I replied but Lucy shook her head. "Dragon same as Daddy" she said and I understood now what she meant. It makes sense since I was raised by a red fire dragon and I'm the Fire Dragon Slayer. "That's right Lucy" I said as I stood up, picking her up in my arms, "and this dragon is going to protect his princess" I added pointing to myself before kissing her forehead.

I heard another loud squeal and a thump. Mira had fainted and she was mumbling "too cute" over and over again. "We better take her to the infirmary" Lisanna said as Elfman picked up Mira bridal style and began to walk to the infirmary.

For the rest of the day, I played with Lucy by letting her ride my back as I pretended to be a horse. "Giddy up horsy!" Lucy cheered, "neigh!" I replied as I crawled on my hands and knees. Luckily, she didn't ask me to take this charade outside. Suddenly an ice shard was shot at my butt and the force knocked me flat on the floor. "Aw Big Brother look what you did to horsy!" Lucy pouted with her arms crossed. "Sorry Lucy, I thought horsy was walking too slow" Gray snickered as he rubbed Lucy's head with his hand and I quickly glared at him.

When it was time to leave, Lucy and I walked hand-in-hand home with Happy, Gray and Erza. "Where should we eat today?" I asked slightly drooling at the thought of food. "Lets go to a seafood place!" Happy said slightly drooling at the thought of fish. "You always suggest a seafood place Happy. Besides I could cook something at Lucy's" Gray said. "I didn't know you could cook Gray" Erza said, "when you live alone and expect Flame Brain to burn our food during jobs, you pick up a few things" he replied. "What was that Ice Strrrr...Ice Princess!" I said 'crap I almost said stripper!' I thought worriedly.

Luckily for me since I didn't say it, Erza didn't try to kill me and I'll live for another day. The next morning, we walked to the guild ready for our job. Erza was pulling her huge trailer full of stuff, I can never understand why she brings so much stuff on jobs. Lucy was holding my large hand with her small one while Happy flew beside us. Gray was behind us with his satchel over his shoulder. Lucy has been so excited to go on a job with me since I told her last night that she almost didn't sleep. Soon we saw our familiar guild, Fairy Tail, coming into view.
