Chapter 25 - Pool Party

The day after we returned from the job, we were walking to the guild. Gray was carrying Lucy in his arms because today was extremely hot even though I couldn't feel it. I was jealous but I knew my body heat would make the heat worst for Lucy so I let him. Sting was grumbling and complaining about the heat the whole way which was annoying. "How can you wear all those black clothes?" Sting asked Rogue, who just shrugged.

Once we arrived at the guild, we noticed no one was inside. "Where is everyone?" I asked and then Mira came up to us in a bikini. Sting had a nosebleed and fainted while Lucy giggled at him. "Silly Big Brother Sting" she said as she looked at him over Gray's shoulder. "Where is everyone Mira?" Gray asked, "everyone is having a pool party out the back" Mira replied. "Yay pool!" Lucy cheered and Mira giggled. "I have a special swimsuit for you, Lucy" Mira said as she took Lucy off and took her to the bathroom.

Rogue, Gray and I looked down at the unconscious Sting and wondered what to do with him. "I'm going to buy some swimming trunks for Sting and I. Do whatever you want to him" Rogue said before he left the guild. Gray and I changed into our swimming trunks and when we came back I had a brilliant idea. I whispered my idea to Gray and he smirked, agreeing to my plan.

I grabbed Sting's ankles while Gray grabbed his wrists. "Heave ho" we said as we lifted him up and then carried him towards the pool. We lined ourselves to the pool and everyone looked at us curiously. "1...2...3!" Gray and I counted before we swung the unconscious Sting into the pool. As soon as he hit the water, he regained consciousness and swam to the surface in a panic. Gray and I laughed as Sting glared at us, knowing it was us because we were the closest to him.

"Daddy! Daddy!" I heard Lucy's cheerful voice call out from behind me. I turned around to see her in a pink one-piece swimsuit with a big white heart in the middle. Her hair was pulled back into two small pig tails and on her arms were pink floaties. Lucy ran up to me and hugged my leg, looking up at me with a big smile. I gave her my signature grin, "do you want to swim Lucy?" I asked her. "Yeah!" she cheered happily and let go of my leg.

"Wait here" I said and then did a cannonball into the pool. I resurfaced and swam towards the edge of the pool near Lucy. I left a bit of room between myself and the edge. "Come on Lucy, jump in" I said encouragingly as I had my arms open. She walked closer to the edge and jumped into the water in front of me. I gave her a hug in the water, "great job Lucy!" I praised and she giggled happily.

We played together in the pool, I would splash her lightly and she would splash me back. After all the splashing, I floated on my back while she sat on my stomach. We played pirates, she was the captain while I was the ship. "Treasure spotted straight ahead!" she said as she pointed to the plate of cookies beside the pool. "Aye aye captain!" I said with a salute and float us towards the treasure. Once we reached the edge of the pool where the cookies were, I lifted Lucy onto the edge and then lifted myself up. We took a cookie each and ate it beside the pool. Lucy looked like she was having a lot of fun.

A while after playing, Lucy was sleeping peacefully on one of the deck chairs under an umbrella with a towel covering her like a blanket. I was having a swimming race with Gray while the girls were surrounding Lucy. "She looks so cute" Mira said and the girls agreed. Our race turned into a fight because we both thought we won the race. Once Erza broke the fight, I walked over to Lucy and picked her up without waking her up. I rested her head on my shoulder and held her comfortably in my arms with the towel still wrapped around her.

The girls awed as I walked into the guild with Lucy. Inside the guild, I headed towards the table where Sting and Rogue sat. They had already changed back into their normal clothes. "You should probably get changed Natsu. I can hold Lucy till you get back" Sting offered with his arms out to hold Lucy. "You're right" I agreed but I handed Lucy to Rogue. Sting looked disappointed, "why did you give Lucy to him?!" Sting exclaimed. Lucy stirred a little bit from Sting's outburst but stayed asleep.

"Because I know I can get Lucy back from Rogue" I replied, knowing that if I gave Sting the chance he wouldn't let go of her. "No fair!" Sting complained, this time Lucy did wake up from his outburst and rubbed her tired eyes. I sighed and took Lucy from Rogue. "I'll get Mira to change her clothes now that she's awake" I said and left the table.

I took Lucy to the bar and waited for Mira. It wasn't too long until she came to the bar in her normal clothes. "What can I get you Natsu?" she asked politely. "Can you change Lucy's clothes?" I asked and her eyes sparkled. "Of course!" she replied as she took Lucy off of me and took her into the bathroom. While Lucy was getting changed, I went to change back into my normal clothes. When I came back, Lucy was sitting on the stool of the bar and eating a strawberry flavoured ice cream in a cone.

She was wearing a white sleeveless dress and her hair was back in its original style. I sat down next to her and she noticed my presence. "Daddy look! Aunty Mira gave me ice cream!" she said happily, "that looks yummy" I replied happily. I was trying my hardest not to sneak a bite because I don't want to have what happened to Sting with the cookie incident to happen to me. "Want some Daddy?" Lucy asked as she held out her ice cream to me. "Don't mind if I do" I said and took a big bite of her ice cream.

"Daddy! I didn't say you could eat nearly all of it!" she complained with a pout. "Sorry Lucy" I said as I rubbed her head. "You're not sorry" she said still with a pout. "If you forgive me, I'll let you play with Happy when we get home" I offered and her face lit up. "Deal!" she cheered and continued to eat the rest of her ice cream.
