Chapter 17 - Daddy come back!

Lucy's POV

My heart broke as Daddy closed the office door. "Daddy come back! Daddy!" I cried through the door. No matter how hard I screamed or cried, he didn't come back. "Well good luck" Gramps said and walked out the door. "Come back here Old Man!" Laxus shouted as he tried to hold me still. He looked flustered trying to think of something to calm me down.

He decided to sit me down on the edge of Gramps' desk while holding my waist. I tried struggling out of his grip so I can run after Daddy but he held me down. "I'm not good at this, stupid Old Man" Laxus sighed, looking away from me. He kneeled in front of me so he would look up at me. "Lucy look at me" he said with a soft look on his face. I stopped struggling and looked at him, sniffing.

"I know you don't want to be apart from your Daddy but trust me, I'll keep you safe till he gets back. So, will you give me a chance?" he asked sincerely. I decided to give him a chance and nodded my head. "Good girl" he said with a small smile as he wiped my tears away with his thumb. He stood back up and picked me up off the desk, holding me with one arm. We calmly walked out of the office to see the guild shocked. I wondered why though?

"Well done my boy" Gramps said proudly from the bar. "It was no big deal" Laxus said, acting cool. Three people came over to where we were standing. "Laxus, how did you get her to calm down?" the long green haired man asked. "Yeah man you gotta tell us" the man with his tongue sticking out asked. "Yeah tell us, tell us" the creepy dolls floating behind him said. "It's none of your business" Laxus said, "hmph, I could've calmed her down myself" the lady with a fan boasted.

"Big Brother Laxus, who are they?" I asked. The whole guild went silent, "BIG BROTHER?!" they exclaimed. "Did I say something wrong?" I asked looking down sadly. "No you didn't, I don't care if you call me that" Laxus said which cheered me up. "I wonder how Natsu would react if he heard that?" Macao asked, "he'd probably get mad and try to attack Laxus, only to get beaten up" Wakaba replied.

Big Brother Laxus sighed, "they are my team mates, please introduce yourselves" he said ignoring the rest of the guild. "My name is Freed, it's nice to meet you Lucy" the green haired one, Freed introduced. "I'm Bixlow and these are my babies" the man with his tongue out, Bixlow introduced. "I'm surprised that you haven't heard of me. I'm Evergreen, Queen of the Fairies" the lady with a fan, Evergreen boasted. "Wow so does that mean you're a real Fairy?!" I asked, "of course I am" Evergreen said smugly. "Don't lie to her" Freed sighed.

Suddenly my stomach rumbled loudly and I blushed in embarrassment. "Are you hungry Lucy?" Freed asked and I nodded shyly. "Would a chicken sandwich be alright?" he asked politely, "yes please" I replied. "Laxus, how about you go sit down with Lucy and we'll go order the food?" Freed suggested. "Alright, you know what I want" Big Brother Laxus said taking me towards their table. He sat me on comfortably on his lap while we waited.

It wasn't long for Freed, Bixlow and Evergreen to come to our table. "Lucy dear, why don't you come sit with me? I can teach you how to be as fabulous as me" Evergreen asked. "No thank you, I want to stay with Big Brother Laxus" I said. I'm only felt comfortable with Big Brother Laxus at the moment and I wasn't ready to be close with these people yet. Evergreen looked disappointed and Bixlow laughed. "Got turned down!" he said as his held his aching stomach from all the laughing. "Oh shut up! If Lucy had to pick between the two of us, she would choose me every time" Evergreen retorted. "Not true. Who wouldn't like me more that you?" Bixlow said, boasted.

Before Evergreen could argue further, Aunty Mira came with our lunch. "Here you go" she said as she placed my sandwich in front of me. "Thank you Aunty Mira" I said and took a few bites out of my sandwich. I noticed Big Brother Laxus' eyes following Aunty Mira as she walked away. "Big Brother Laxus, why are you staring at Aunty Mira?" I asked. He looked down at me, "I wasn't staring" he said. Freed, Bixlow and Evergreen tried to contain their laughter. "Are you sure about that?" Bixlow chuckled, "Lucy caught you red-handed Laxus" Freed chuckled. "Tell us the truth Laxus" Evergreen giggled behind her fan.

Big Brother Laxus picked me up as he stood up. Without a word, Big Brother Laxus walked out of the guild while carrying me in one arm. I looked over Big Brother Laxus' shoulder to see Freed, Bixlow and Evergreen looking disappointed. "Big Brother Laxus, where are we going?" I asked, "to my place" he simply replied.

A big yawn escaped my mouth, I was tired from all the crying I did earlier. I rested my head on Big Brother Laxus' shoulder as my eye lids became heavy. I felt Big Brother Laxus' coat being wrapped around my shoulders as my eyes close. When I woke up from my nap, I was laying on couch with a cushion under my head and Big Brother Laxus' coat over me like a blanket. I sat up, letting the coat fall down to my waist. "Are you awake?" Big Brother Laxus said and I noticed he was sitting beside me on the couch, by my feet. I nodded in response, "Big Brother Laxus is this where you live?" I asked as I looked around the room.

"Yeah" he replied and then we heard knocking from the front door. I held Big Brother Laxus' hand as we walked towards the door. Before he opened the door, I hid behind his legs, anxious about who was at the door. He opened the door to reveal Freed, Bixlow and Evergreen. "What are you doing here?" Big Brother Laxus asked, "since Lucy's here we thought we could sleep over till Natsu comes back" Freed explained. Big Brother Laxus sighed, "there's no stopping you is there" he muttered quietly and let them in.
