Chapter 11 - Puppy Dog Eyes

"NATSU, GRAY" a voice boomed across the guild hall. Gray and I cowered as the demon Erza came stomping angrily over to us. "Oh no!" we exclaimed, scared as we hugged each other. "How could you lose Lucy and what did I tell you two boys about fighting?!" Erza said angrily. "We really made her angry this time!" I said, panicking. She re-quipped a sword into her hand and we trembled in fear. "Aunty Erza! Please don't hurt Daddy and Big Brother! It was my fault for running off" Lucy said sadly as she stood in front of us.

Erza seemed to calm down and lowered her sword. "Next time don't run off. It was lucky that you bumped into Sting and Rogue, but next time it might be Kazuma and Ryuki so you need to always stay with Daddy and Big Brother alright?" she asked nicely. "Aye!" Lucy replied with a smile. Gray and I sighed in relief until "I'm still going to punish you boys for fighting" Erza said.

"Eeeeek! We're sorry!" we screamed, hugging each other tighter. Erza flicked our foreheads, "ow!" we exclaimed letting go of each other and rubbing our sore foreheads. "Thank Lucy for it being a simple flick" she said and then turned to walk away. "Is it a simple flick if you use your super strength?" I whispered to Gray, "definitely not" he whispered back. "Did you say something boys?" Erza said firmly, "n-no" we replied.

Erza walked away and we were relieved. I noticed someone was laughing hard in the background. It was Sting, clutching his stomach while laughing. "What are you laughing about?" I asked, "you two were so scared of her haha!" Sting laughed. "Hey! If you had to deal with her you would be scared too!" I defended myself. "I've never seen you so scared of someone before. Usually you're never scared to fight a tough opponent and now pfff-hahaha" he said. I started to get annoyed, I wanted to punch him. He had no idea how scary Erza can be when her anger is directed at you.

"Daddy" Lucy called out and I looked down to her. She raised her pink teddy bear towards me, "now dragon has a new friend" she said. I thought that was adorable, she cares about friends as much as I do. "Yes he does. That's very sweet of you" I said with a big smile and rubbing her head. "Daddy! You're messing up my hair!" Lucy complained with a pout. "Haha sorry about that Lucy" I said.

"Look the sun's going down, we should enjoy the festival a little longer before the fireworks. You want to watch some fireworks, don't you Lucy?" Sting said. I had a feeling he was silently saying 'with me' which I wasn't happy about. "Aye!" Lucy replied and then quickly ran over to Sting. He picked her up and was about to walked off with her when, "where do you think you're going?" I said glaring at Sting. "To enjoy the festival?" he answered playing dumb. "Not with her you're not" I said as I took Lucy from him into my arms.

"It's not my fault that you didn't watch her when you should've" Sting retorted with a smug look. "Ouch, that stings. Haha Sting stings" I said laughing at my own joke. Lucy giggled, at least she got it. "Ha ha very funny" Sting said, rolling his eyes. "I want to go with Daddy and Big Brother Sting! Big Brother and Big Brother Rogue can come too!" Lucy said excitedly.

"Great idea Lucy" Gray said, "what but I don't want to go with Light Bulb, I have enough to deal with when you're around" I said, upset. "Daddy please" Lucy said, giving me the puppy dog eyes. "Oh no, not the puppy dog eyes!" I exclaimed, looking away from her. I could still see her puppy dog eyes in the corner of my eye. I couldn't resist looking back at her and then she added a pout, quivering her lower lip. 'Not the quivering lip!' I thought, I felt my brain crack under the pressure. "Fine" I sighed in defeat, hanging my head low. "Yay! Yay!" Lucy cheered and clapped, happy about her win.

"Can't resist the puppy dog eyes huh?" Gray said with a smirk, "puppy dog eyes are evil" I muttered in response. "Well since that is sorted out, lets go enjoy the festival!" Sting said excitedly. "Sometime I think you're the kid" Rogue muttered quietly, "I heard that!" Sting complained. Lucy laughed at how silly we were acting. It was adorable to see her smile and laugh.

We walked out of the guild and entered the bustling festival. The streets were even more crowded than before. We found the street full of food stalls, my eyes sparkled at the sight and smell of food. "Hey!" Gray and Sting shouted as I began to run to every stall in sight while holding Lucy in one arm. When we passed the candy apple stall, I bought a candy apple for Lucy. "Thank you Daddy!" she said, taking a bite of the candy apple.

Once I finished filling my arm that wasn't carrying Lucy with food, I regrouped with Gray, Sting and Rogue. "How did you get all that food in five minutes?" Sting questioned, a little shocked. "Don't underestimate Natsu when it comes to food" Gray stated, crossing his arms. "O...K...You can't possibly eat all that while holding Lucy, give her to me" Sting said, reaching for her. "No" I said as I quickly turned Lucy away from him, like a kid keeping a toy away from his parents.

"You need your other hand to eat" Sting said, "no I don't" I replied as I bit into my mountain of food. "Zee" I said with my mouth full. "Ew Natsu! Close your mouth, we can see your food!" Gray cringed. "Zorwy" I said with my mouth still full, "not again Natsu, that's gross!" Sting cringed. I swallowed my food, "sorry" I said again. We then continued walking through the brightly lit festival.
