Chapter 21 - The Lonely Twin

The next morning before we left Lucy's apartment, "Lucy you need to choose between bringing your dragon or your teddy bear" Sting said. He gave me a look and I knew this was a silent challenge from him. "Why Big Brother Sting?" Lucy asked, "because...you can't carry both of them" Sting replied coming up with an excuse. With no hesitation, "I'm taking Dragon with me. Sorry Teddy, take care of the house while we're gone ok?" she said as she hugged her dragon plush.

Sting's face was hilarious as he looked so dejected. On the way to the guild, Sting sulked all the way as Lucy held my hand with her dragon plush in her other hand. I had a giant grin on my face and I felt like nothing could ruin this day. "What's with that stupid grin Pinky?" Gray snickered, "shut up Popsicle!" I shouted back.

We finally reached the guild hall and Erza suggested that we all go on a job. Gray, Erza, Wendy, Carla, Happy, Sting, Rogue and I were talking about what kind of job we could take Lucy on while Lucy sat on my lap, playing with her dragon plush. "Where's little Lucy!" someone shouted from the guild's front door. It revealed to be one of the twins Ryuki! There was no sign of Kazuma anywhere and I couldn't smell him either.

Lucy turned towards my chest and buried her face into my chest, clutching my vest like she was trying to hide. "Ah I found you!" he shouted as he looked at Lucy on my lap. As he stepped a foot forward everyone except me and Lucy attacked him with their magic. Everyone managed to take him down and then Gray and Gajeel dragged him into the underground basement.

Sting and Rogue left towards the basement while I comforted Lucy by hugging her. "It's ok, the bad man is gone now" I cooed as I gently stroked her back. "How's Lucy?" Mira asked as she walked up to our table. "She was scared when she saw him but I'm sure she'll be alright in a minute" I told them. "Oh dear...Oh I know! I'll make a special dessert to help cheer her up" Mira said cheerfully and ran off towards the bar.

After a long hug, I was able to comfort Lucy enough that she wasn't hiding in my chest anymore. I tucked a loose hair behind her ear and gave her a kiss on her forehead. She looked up at me, gave me a smile and gave me a big hug. Even though she was feeling better, I kept my arms loosely around her waist for comfort. "I can't believe it" Sting growled as he and Rogue sat down across from us. "What's wrong Big Brother Sting?" Lucy asked. "I wanted to give that 'Ryuki' person a piece of my mind for attacking you but Master Makarov said that it was a Fairy Tail issue so I shouldn't interfere" he explained.

"You might get your chance later" Rogue said, emotionlessly. "Hey Natsu, do you want to give Ryuki a piece of your mind?" Gray said as he walked over to our table. "Not right now, Lucy needs me more. Did you get any information from him?" I asked. "He said the reason why he attacked was because he was sick of waiting for his twin to come up with a plan" Gray explained. "Thanks to his hot head attitude, we caught one of the twins" Sting said, "who are you calling Hot Head?!" I complained. "I meant Ryuki" he sighed, "oh" I replied.

"Now that we have one of the twins, the other is sure to try and get him back" Gray said. "So, we need to come up with a plan?" Rogue asked, "Erza and Gramps are working on one right now" Gray replied. "You shouldn't talk about these things while Lucy's here" Levy said as she walked pass our table. She was right, Lucy doesn't need any more stress from this situation.

As I was trying to think about something else to say, I noticed Mira coming over with a plate of chocolate chip cookies in her hand and a skip in her step. "Here you go Lucy! A special plate of chocolate chip cookies just for you" she said sweetly, "thank you Aunty Mira!" Lucy replied. Suddenly Mira looked at us with a deathly glare, "no one touches her cookies, understand?" she threatened with her Satan Soul voice. We nodded frantically, "great!" she said with her sweet voice and walked back to the bar.

Lucy grabbed the top cookie from the pile and took a big bite. "Mmm yummy!" Lucy cheered and all of the guys wanted a taste but didn't want to upset Mira. After Lucy finished her first cookie, she grabbed a second one and turned herself around in my lap to face me. "Here Daddy" Lucy said as she held the cookie up to my mouth. I was a little hesitant because of Mira's threat but I doubt she'll kill me since Lucy offered it to me.

I took a bite of the cookie while it was still in her hand. "Is it good?" she asked, "delicious" I replied with a smile which she happily returned. "Can we have one too?" Sting asked, "only one, the rest are for me and Daddy" she replied and I gave her a kiss on the cheek. She was being so cute. Sting sulked but only took one cookie along with Rogue and Gray.

I decided to return the favour as I picked up one of the cookies and held it up to Lucy's mouth. She happily took a bite which made me happy. As Lucy was feeding me another cookie, I noticed Sting was trying to take another cookie from behind her back. I blocked his hand with mine and Lucy glared at him. "Big Brother Sting, I told you one cookie" she said and then Mira with a creepy sweet grin on her face showed up behind Sting. I saw Sting shiver and slowly turned around to see the demon behind him.

"What did I say about taking Lucy's cookies?" Mira said in a creepy sweet voice. Sting tried to run away from her but she grabbed him by his collar and started dragging him towards the back of the guild hall. He screamed as he tried to get away from her. "Oh you poor soul" Wakaba said as he watch Sting get dragged across the guild hall. "Rogue help me!" Sting cried desperately, "you knew the consequences" Rogue replied and looked away. "Traitor!" Sting shouted before he disappeared into one of the back rooms with Mira. May his soul rest in peace while I eat another cookie.
