Daddy's Little Lucy

Chapter 9 - Stars and a Red Dress

We received the reward from Darren and went on our merry way. Once we arrived at Clover station, Gray lifted Lucy out of the carrier and I took it off my back. He carried Lucy onto the train and I dreaded following everyone onboard. I automatically became sickly as soon as the train moved an inch before the death trap left the station for Magnolia.

During the train ride, Lucy fell asleep in Gray's arms. 'If I wasn't feeling sick, I would punch that Popsicle in the face off the train and sit Lucy in my lap' I plotted. After the hour of torture, we finally reached Magnolia. Lucy slept the entire trip and woke up as the train rolled into Magnolia Station.

Lucy climbed down from Gray's lap and held my hand as she pulled me off the train. "Sweet sweet land" I said happily, "stop being so dramatic" Gray complained. "I'm not being dramatic Ice Cube!" I argued, "you don't need to express your love of land every single time you leave the train Flame Breath!" he argued. "What did you call me Ice Stripper! Oh no..." I realised that I said stripper in front of Lucy. I am so dead.

I felt Erza's murderous glint in her eyes. Gray quickly pulled Lucy away from me before she accidently shared my death. I quickly tried to run away from her but unluckily for me, she grabbed my scarf before I had the chance to run. Gray distracted Lucy as Erza brutally beat me up. My vision was distorted as I laid beaten on the concrete floor. "Daddy!" Lucy shouted as she ran over to my beaten body. Gray and Erza look over at me checking that Erza didn't go overboard and killed me.

"Ahah sserd der a ni syarg kool ho, srats ees I" I said while pointing at Gray. "What the hell did he say?!" Gray exclaimed. "Aunty Erza! You broke Daddy!" Lucy complained, "I know how to fix him" Gray said before punching me in the face. "I see stars, oh look Gray's in a red dress haha" I repeated, now that my brain was back in order. "I don't think he's fully fixed" Gray said angrily, about to punch me again. "No Big Brother! Don't hurt Daddy anymore" Lucy shouted before tears started flowing down her cheeks. "I'm sorry Lucy" Gray said guiltily and then I fully blacked out.

I woke up laying on a bench in the train station. "Daddy, are you ok now?" Lucy said worriedly from my side. "Yeah I'm alright now" I said with a smile to reassure her. "Where's Erza and Happy?" I asked. "They went ahead to the guild and now that you're fine, I can get you back for that red dress comment" Gray said cracking his knuckles. "What red dress?" I asked, extremely confused. "You don't remember saying you thought I was wearing a red dress?" Gray asked and I instantly laughed. "You in a red dress haha!" I said on the floor laughing till I was sore in the sides. "Lucy lets leave this lunatic...Lucy?" Gray said looking around to find that Lucy disappeared.

We started to panic, "where the hell did she ran off to?!" I exclaimed. Since she wasn't anywhere in the station, Gray and I decided to look outside. When we exited the train station, we saw the whole city having a festival. 'I don't remember a festival being planned for today' I thought. I tried sniffing Lucy's scent but with so many people around I couldn't pick it up. "Can you pick up Lucy's scent?" Gray asked, "no there are too many people" I replied. "Then we will have to find her on foot before Erza kills us" Gray said before walking in to the crowds and I followed after him. Occasionally I would get distracted by all the delicious food stalls and Gray had to constantly had to pull me away. I filled up my arms with food as we looked for Lucy.

"Wow look at that! It's a giant balloon that looks like Happy!" I said amazed. Gray sighed, "if you don't focus on finding Lucy, I will tell Erza that you ate her emergency supply of strawberry cake" he threatened. "You wouldn't!" I exclaimed, "I would!" he threatened. I glared at him, "I was just hungry after almost puking half my lunch on that death trap" I muttered before continuing the search for Lucy.

It's been an hour and we still hadn't found Lucy. "Lucy!" we called out, "why does this festival have to be so big?!" I complained. We asked all the Fairy Tail members we bumped into but none of them have seen her. Now our worries that the twins may have captured her were raising. "What should we do now?" I asked, "maybe we should go back to the guild" Gray suggested. "Are you nuts?! Erza will kill us for losing Lucy!" I complained, "we need to face her if we are going to ask her to help" he replied. I couldn't argue, we needed to find Lucy quickly.

We ran all the way to the guild, "Lucy's missing!" we shouted in unison as we kicked the door opened. "Papa! Big Brother!" Lucy called out as she ran to us with a pink teddy bear in her arms and our jaws dropped. She hugged my leg while we were shocked. "She was here the whole time?!" Gray and I exclaimed. "We brought her here a few minutes ago" a familiar voice spoke up.

We saw Sting and Rogue walking towards us. "You found her?" I asked, "yeah, she bumped into us while we were enjoying the festival" Sting answered. "I'm guessing that teddy bear was from you two?" Gray asked, "yeah, she really wanted it" Sting answered. "Master Makarov told us about the situation with Lucy" Rogue mentioned. I felt Lucy tugging lightly on my pants, "Daddy, do you know Big Brother Sting and Big Brother Rouge?" Lucy asked. "Did you just call Sting and Rogue Big Brother?!" I exclaimed, "aye" Lucy replied with a big smile.
