Chapter 33 - Today's the Day

Today's the day, the day I get my best friend (besides Happy) back. I had my gift to Lucy in my pocket ready to give to her when the time was right. Lucy was holding my hand as we walked to the guild with Erza and Gray following behind us. Lucy was telling me the dream she had last night, "-and then the dragon let me ride on its back and we fleeeeeew in the air!" she told me with excitement. "That sounds like an awesome dream" I replied as I smiled down at her.

I expected to hear Happy comment but I noticed he didn't come to Lucy's apartment last night. "Has anyone seen Happy?" I asked, "not since yesterday when he was talking to Carla" Erza replied. I snickered with a teasing smirk on my face "he loves~ her" I laughed at my Happy impersonation. "It's not funny when you do it Natsu" Happy complained as he flew up to us. "Where have you been Happy?" I asked, "um...I was at home" he replied nervously.

"Daddy, what's a date?" Lucy asked, "where did you learn that word, Lucy?" I asked a little shocked. "I heard Kitty say it yesterday" she replied as she pointed at Happy. I looked up to Happy and he was sweating profusely. "Ew Kitty's slimy" Lucy said and took a step back, "I'm not slimy!" Happy exclaimed. I put two and two together and a smirk grew on my face. "Sooooooooo~...How was your date, Happy?" I teased. "Well, if you must know it went great" he replied smugly.

We continued our way to the guild and when we arrived everything looked normal. 'I thought Mira planned a party?' I wondered as I looked around. "Good morning you guys, good morning Lucy" Mira greeted us from the bar. "Good morning Aunty Mira!" Lucy greeted back with a wave and a smile. "Aw!" Mira ran around the bar and ran up to us. She picked Lucy up in a big hug. "I'm going to miss you so much" she said, "what do you mean Aunty Mira? Are you going somewhere?" Lucy asked confused. Mira shook her head before putting Lucy down. "No, don't worry about it" she replied.

I put my mouth up to Mira's ear in a whisper. "What happened to the party you were planning for today?" I asked. She giggled, "they're hidden until she turns back to normal" she whispered back. I nodded in understanding, "Levy has a surprise for you Lucy" Mira said and she gave me a knowing wink. I guessed we were going to change her back now.

Lucy's face lit up when she heard there was a surprise for her. She ran straight to Levy, who was reading a book next to Gajeel. I followed Lucy while the rest split up. "Aunty Levy! Aunty Levy!" she called out as she ran. Levy looked up from her book, "oh hi Lucy" she said with a smile. "Aunty Mira said you had a surprise for me" Lucy said with excitement. "Yes, I do" Levy replied and closed her book.

"First, Natsu sit in the middle of the guild" she said and I was confused but did as I was told. "Now, Lucy sit on his lap" Levy said, "ok!" Lucy replied and did as she was told without a second thought. Lucy was sitting on my lap sideways with my arms lightly around her and the entire guild watching us. I noticed Mira had a lacrima in her hand for some reason. "Ok now for the surprise" Levy said kneeling in front of us and put her hand on Lucy's head.

"Rem ni dero tani nuki depello transfiguro" she chanted and Lucy fell asleep in my arms. Levy took her hand off Lucy's head as a golden light came from Lucy. The light was blinding for a minute before fading away. In place of little Lucy was normal Lucy, my Lucy, but she was naked. I blushed as I looked away. 'What's wrong with me? I've seen Lucy naked before but I've never blushed before. Maybe it's because she's in my lap?' I wondered. I became jealous as I saw all the guys got nosebleeds and fainted when they saw Lucy's body.

I tried covering her body up as much as I could until Wendy ran over and covered Lucy's body with a blanket from the infirmary. As soon as she was wrapped in the blanket, Lucy began to stir. I watched as her familiar brown eyes opened. "Welcome back Lucy!" I said with a big smile on my face. "Natsu? Where are – aaaaaaaaaaah!" she screamed as she looked down at her body.

"Where are my clothes?!" she panicked, "come on Lu. I've got your change of clothes and you can use the infirmary to get dressed" Levy said. She was about to help Lucy up off of my lap when I wrapped my arms around Lucy's waist, holding her down. "Natsu? What are you doing?" Lucy asked and I just pouted as I looked the other way. To be honest, I didn't want to let her go yet.

The girls all squealed loudly and I had to cover my sensitive dragon slayer ears. As I was doing that Lucy got off my lap and ran to the infirmary. I stayed seated where I was and grumbled to myself. As Lucy was getting dressed, Mira waved her hand around and the decorations appeared. There was a banner saying 'Welcome Back Lucy!' and colourful streamers were hanging down from the rafters. I turned around and saw a buffet table! Oh, I'm in heaven!

I was shuffling towards the buffet table like a drooling zombie when Erza whacked me on the head. "Ow what was that for?!" I complained, "wait until Lucy comes out first" she replied sternly. I sighed, "fine, I'll come for you later my darling" I said towards the delicious food on the table. "Stop being dramatic Fire Breath" I turned around and saw Gray was conscious again. I noticed all the guys were waking up from their 'dreamy' nap. "Shut up Ice Drool" I argued. We saw Erza coming this way and kept our mouths shut.

I smelt Lucy coming and I saw Levy rush out from the back of the guild. She gave everyone the thumbs up and as Lucy came out, fully clothed, we all shouted "welcome back Lucy!" with confetti falling down from above.
