Chapter 14 ~ Asa
It didn't take a genius to know that Rowan was hiding something.
I sat down at my seat right before class began. It felt weird not having Rowan beside me. I still was shaken up by the the fact that she had said yes. Obviously, I had wanted it to be like a date, but when she asked, I panicked. I would have to start slow.
"Hey, Asa, pass your worksheet over." Some guy whose name I forgot asked. I handed him my paper, and then then rested my head on my chin.
I breezed through my math work, but did not pay much attention. Same with german.
Then finally the school day was over. Finally! I got to see Rowan!! I walked out of class and raced to my locker. I quickly took my stuff and started walking towards her locker. Sure enough, she was there with the rest of them.
"Hey, Rowan?" I asked, coughing. She turned around, hair spinning as she did so. I almost fainted.
"Oh hey Ace. Should we get going?" I nodded, in a trance. She called me Ace. She called me Ace!! SHE CALLED ME ACE!
How friggin adorable!
"See you guys!" Rowan said, waving to her friends. I looked at Kenzie. Sure enough, she was watching Rowan's every move, a glare in her icy eyes.
"Bye Rowan! Call me!" Ashley said happily, winking. Rowan grinned, chuckling. The girls all called bye.
"I will!" Rowan came up to me and grabbed my hand. I felt my insides freak out. "Let's go." She smiled and pulled me all the way out of the school.
"Nice nickname. Ace." I muttered, smiling, but she heard.
"Oh god was it embarrassing? I'm so sorry!" She said, pulling her phone out of her bag.
"No, no! I love it." I said, realizing that it was the wrong thing to say. Rowan blushed.
"I'm gonna call my mom." She said quickly, and I nodded.
"Oh hey mom! I'm gonna come home a bit later, I'm going to um, Asa's so he can help me with my homework." Rowan looked at me, biting her lip and playing with one of her curls. I felt my face get hot, and I quickly looked down, embarrassed. I hope she didn't see that.
"Yeah I made friends. They're really nice. I'll be home for dinner. Talk to you later, love you, bye." Rowan ended, and hung up.
"So, should we go?" I asked. She smiled.
"We should."

We walked through the garden and to the trampoline.
"I don't know, maybe?" I asked nervously.
"OH! I love trampolines!! Yay!" She gave me a quick hug and I stood their, shocked, and put my arm around her. She looked up at me, smiling. Her eyes were lit up like a little kid's as she pulled off her shoes.
"Oh, Asa? Whose this?" I started to shrink, wishing I could disappear into the ground.
"Mum, this is Rowan. Rowan, this is my mom. Rowan just moved here from Michigan. We met a few days ago." I said, as Rowan walked up to mum, smiling.
"Oh nice to meet you Rowan!" Mum said happily, reaching out for Rowan's hand. Rowan shook it.
"Nice to meet you to!" She said.
"Call me (A/N: Sorry I forgot her name agh)"I looked at mum nervously. Rowan started talking to her but somehow managed to end the convo and soon she ended up on the trampoline.
