Chapter 24

Chapter 24 ~ Rowan

News got around fast at the school. On Tuesday morning pretty much everyone in the grade knew that Asa and I were together. It stressed me out, but I tried not to let it bother me.
Ashley and the girls had freaked when I told them. Even now, they got all weird whenever Asa was around me.

I opened up my locker and reached for some books that I would need for my next class.

"Hello gorgeous." A voice said behind my locker door. I felt myself melt away inside at his accent and closed the door.

"Hey handsome." I said, and regretted it the second it out was out. Rowan, you stupid thing!

Fortunately, he smiled in reply and grabbed one book and my pencil case from my pile.

"To science we go." He said, and we walked off through the hallway.

"So um." I began.

"Well Ms. Sparks I was thinking about that first Friday in December. Where to?" He asked, glancing at me. He was in a really good mood today, and I couldn't quite figure out why.

"I still haven't thought about. What's up with your attitude Ace? Your happiness is freaking me out." He laughed.

"Ask that friend of your's, Ashley." He said slyly. I furrowed my eyebrows, and heard a shriek from one hall. I stopped and waited for Ashley to appear. When she did, her eyes were wide and she fell onto my arms, squealing.

"He asked me out Rowan! HE REALLY DID ASK ME OUT! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!" She screamed, jumping up and down. I grinned.

"This is AMAZING Ash I'm so happy for you! Let's talk about this during break ok? I gotta go." Ashley glanced at Asa, gave me a small smile and nodd and ran off.

"Well then, now you get it? Scott was peeing himself over asking her or not. Finally got the guts to do it." Asa explained. I raised an eyebrow.

"Uhm excuse me mister, weren't YOU the one who needed ALL your friends to get the attention of the whole lunch room before you got the guts to ask ME out? Look whose talking!" I said, and pushed his shoulder playfully. A grin spread across his face and he pushed me back. We continued to do so as we walked down the hall until I stopped.

"We are SO ridiculous." I said. Asa laughed.

"Well that's what makes us awesome." He smiled.

"Asasome...." I whispered. He cocked his head and raised his eyebrow.

"What's that?" He asked. I winked and pretended not to know what he was talking about. He sighed.

"I'm not even gonna argue Rowan Sparks. Now C'MOn we need to get to class!" He grabbed my hand and laced his fingers between mine, and together we ran down the hall.

"Thank you for that amazing night Ace." I whispered, playing with his fingers. We had just spent the last two hours taking a walk and just talking and joking around. It was calm and peaceful, and I loved it.

"I'm glad you liked it Row. Next time how about my house?" He asked, smiling. I shrugged, but knew that's what we would do anyway.

"A movie and popcorn. Sounds perfect." I said, even though the popcorn part was a lie. I had been eating a lot more lately which resulted in weight gain, and sometimes I couldn't stand to look at myself in the mirror. I tried to block out Ana's constant nagging though. Asa was more important.

"Asasome." He said, laughing. I grinned.

"Well, goodnight then. Only a week left till Christmas break!" I said excitedly. He nodded.

"I'll see you Monday babe." His voice softened, and I felt my heart melt into a puddle. He had never called me that before. I felt his arms pull me close and he pressed his lips gently to my forehead, sending a shower of tingles down my spine.

"Everything okay?" I asked softly. I felt him nodd his head as he held me close.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight." I let go and raced up the driveway into the house.
It was warm inside, and I could see the fireplace sparkling from the dark living room.

"How was it?" Mom called. I pulled of my snow drenched boots and hung my jacket then walked to where mom was sitting on the sofa reading.

"Amazing. Isn't it weird how, well..."

"How your idol is now your boyfriend? Trust me Rowan I never thought I'd have my daughter date a famous actor." Mom laughed. I smiled.

"I'm gonna head upstairs. I'm reaaaaally tired." I explained.

"Okay."
I turned around and started up the stairs. As I took another step I head mom's voice call.

"Rowan?" I felt my heart start to pound. What if she knew? What if Kayla told her her suspiciouns?

"Your teacher called me and said she suggest you getting a tutor for math. What do you think?" I took a deep breath. Phew.

"Um, I'll think about it. Goodnight mom." I blew her a kiss and raced to my room, slid on my Pj's and hopped into my soft bed, sighing.

Was this whole Asa thing, really not a dream?

QOTD: How's life?
AOTD: I'm okay. A lot on my shoulders school related but my bestie which I haven't seen for SEVEN MONTHS is coming to visit me for 3 days this week and I CAN'T WAIT!!
Do you guys have a valentine?

I HATE this chapter so much but you guys begged for me to update and I'M SO CLOSE TO 4K READS WHAT EVEN?!?? It feels like yesterday I saw I got 3k!!
I'm so greatful for you all it's like a little family :)
I'll try to update ASAP but as I'm REALLY busy that's gonna be hard.
