Toni Sanchez

"Some time apart?" I repeated. "When the fuck did you think of this? Because I wouldn't fuck you last night, you want some time apart?"

"Baby, don't start yelling." He said coming over to me and trying to calm me down. "And no, that's not it."

"No get off of me!" I pushed him away. "You waited until we were away from our kids to tell me you want to some time apart?"

"Toni- I love you. More than you know, I just think we need some time to ourselves."

"Time to ourselves? Where is this coming from?" I asked.

"I started seeing someone else and- ." He said looking down. "Baby, I need some time-"

I felt my heart break into chunks and fall at my feet.

I couldn't get any words out, I felt like my throat had closed up or like the wind had been knocked out of me. All that hurt was starting to come up and I couldn't take looking at him anymore.

Storming back into the house I ran passed Johnny and Danielle and went straight upstairs.

"Toni? Are you okay?" Danielle asked standing up from the chair.

I slammed the door and locked it and ran over to my suitcase and started throwing all of my clothes inside. I started shaking and my tears were falling nonstop, I had to stop and sit down.

Plopping down on the bed I pulled a pillow over my face to hide my cries.

Did he really say that to me?

I know I said I wanted time away from my family but I didn't mean that I wanted to be separated from my husband!

Three knocks sounded at the door.

"Go away Eric!" I shouted.

The door opened and Danielle stood there pushing a bobby pin back in her hair.

When she walked over to me I just completely broke down. She grabbed me and pulled me into her quickly and held me tightly.

"How could he say that to me!" I shouted holding onto her.

She kissed my head and rocked us back and fourth.

"Toni," she grabbed my head and picked it up. "Stop crying."

"I- I," tears blocked my speech. "He- He told me he wants to be separated." I cried looking at her.

"Toni, you gotta be strong mami." She said rubbing my hair. "You gotta be strong for your kids, especially with the one on the way." She whispered the last part.

My eyes bucked.

Only Jupiter knew about me being pregnant.

"Girl I'm your best friend, I don't know who you thought you could keep that from." She laughed.

I laughed too but it died down when I realized that he said that he had started seeing someone else.
