"Man watch out," I told Essence as I moved her out of the way. "Move E, I'm not playin'."

"Ej, you've been here for almost four hours and all you wanna do is play that fucking game." She walked away and plopped down on the bed.

"And?" I asked. "I can fuckin' leave."

"Well shit, you ain't doing me no favors." She replied back.

I licked my lips and nodded.

I stood up from the bed and pulled up my sweatpants and grabbed my phone off the dresser.

"So you're just gonna leave?" She called from behind me.

"Look man, I ain't got time for these fuckin' games." I spun around seein' her right behind me.

"I- I don't-"

"I - I -I. Speak, the fuck?" I rolled my eyes.

I hated when she did this shit.

I had been fuckin' wit' Essence since my sophomore year in college. She was a junior but we took the same Chemistry class. I loved her, but I wasn't ready to fully commit to her. Even though, she had been there for me when I needed her most, that still wasn't enough.

"I don't want you to go," she grabbed my hand. "I just want you to spend time with me."

She peered up at me with those big brown eyes and I felt my heart melting. I fuckin' hated when she pouted. My momma used to do the same thing wit pops and look at them.

Essence

I smacked my lips.

I wasn't in the mood to be here no more honestly. That shit ruined my mood.

"Nah, Ima' go." I said pullin' my hand away from hers.

The look on her face looked like she wanted to cry. But what came out of her mouth, was something completely unexpected.

"I'm pregnant."

I blinked. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I'm pregnant, Ej."

I put my head in my hands and sighed.

"How long you been knowin'?" I asked.

"A few weeks, I was waiting for the right time to tell you."

I sighed and shook my head. "Damn E."

I walked away from her and went to sit on the couch. She came over and sat down in my lap and wrapped her arms around me.

I'm trynna figure this shit out.

I never, ever, ever fucked her raw. I always used a condom wit' Essence. Pops told me about how- nigga; pops told me to never fuck no woman raw unless you were married to her.
