Pacin' back and fourth in the waitin' room of the hospital, I waited for any news of Johnny.

They called Danielle so she would be here any second, but right now just random people sat here.

"Sam!" I looked up seein' Toni running over to me. "Oh my god, thank god you're okay."

She crashed into my arms.

I kissed her forehead.

"Is he okay?" She looked up at me.

I bit my bottom lip.

"I don't know baby, I really don't."

She laid her head on my chest.

"Oh, Johnny."

I wrapped my arms around her head and held her.

"Where the kids?"

"They're with my mom." She said.

"Toni!" We both looked up, seein' a woman and a younger lookin' version on of Johnny run into the waitin' room. I assume the lil nigga was his brother.

"Martha," Toni broke away from my grip to walk over to them.

"How is he? Have you heard anything?"

"No, I just got here." She looked back over at me.

I shook my head and turned to walk away but she grabbed my hand.

"This is my boyfriend Sam, he saved Johnny."

I looked at his mother and held my hand out, but instead she grabbed me and pulled me in for a hug.

I hugged her back.

"Thank you," She said pullin' away from the hug. "Thank you so much."

"It's my job." I said lookin' down at her.

"Danielle!" Toni called.

We all looked behind us, seein' Danielle runnin' towards us.

"Is he okay? Have you heard anything?" She panicked.

"We haven't heard anything." Toni said.

"Oh my god," she clutched her head. "Father god, please don't take him from me. Please don't."

Martha grabbed her and pulled her in for a tight hug. Danielle started cryin'.

"Danielle, stop it." Martha said.

"Ma, he can't. He can't go."

"He's not!"

"We don't know that!" Danielle shouted.

"I know my brother," The lil dude finally spoke. "He ain't gon die."

Toni wrapped her arm around his shoulder.

"You've got to calm down, he's going to be fine." Martha said holdin' Danielle.

Toni let go of the brother and walked over to me and grabbed my hand.

"Let's go sit down," she said pullin' me over to the chairs and sat me down.

I sat down and pulled her down in my lap. She wrapped her arms around my head and held me close.

"If sum' happen to him Toni, I-"

"Shh, Stop." She said kissin' my forehead. "You did everything you could."

"He don't wanna die." I said lookin' up at her.

She wiped my eyes. "Don't cry, baby."

I shook my head and laid my head on her chest.
