Elle Tai Sanchez Brash

"What's up gorgeous?"

I lifted my head seeing Angleo. I rolled my eyes and went back to studying.

"Aw c'mon Elle," he sat down next to me in the library. "I'm just trynna see how your day is going."

"It's fine." I said simply.

"Can I take you to lunch?" He asked.

I looked at him and squinted my eyes. Angelo was probably one of the finest dudes in the school. He was tall, light skin, pretty green eyes, and he played basketball. He was fine as hell. But he was the known player and I was not having that. He had been trying to talk to me for the longest time and each time I shut him down.

"Will you leave me alone if I say yes ?"

He licked his lips. "Maybe."

"Well then maybe I'll think about it."

He nodded his head. "Can I at least study with you?"

Damn boy, what else do you want ?

"I mean, I guess." I moved my binder out of his way and he opened his backpack and pulled out his MacBook.

"Whatchu' working on?" He asked.

I looked over my notes. "I'm just going over my notes for English. We're writing an essay on who is the stronger in a relationship."

He nodded.

"So what do you think? Who's the stronger in your household?" He asked.

He looked at me and then back at his computer.

I bit my bottom lip. My mom and dad both had jobs and made a good steady income, neither one of them stayed home all day. Mommy took care of us when she came home from work, and daddy took care of us too. So it was hard to figure that out.

"I don't know who's the stronger in my house." I said honestly. "Both my parents provide for us."

He nodded. "My mom would be the stronger in my case."

I furrowed my eyebrows confused. He caught on and elaborated. "My dad died before I was born."

"I'm sorry to hear that." I said.

I softly touched his hand that rested on the table.

He nodded. "It's coo, don't feel bad."

I smiled slightly.

We studied for a little longer until it was time for class to start. I started packing up my stuff.

"Can I walk you to class?" He asked.

I threw my backpack over my shoulder and looked up at him.

Lord, he was so fine.
