(Y/n)'s POV

In a world that darkness takes over you have to be ready for everything.

I have heard many stories in my life. My parents used to tell me one every night before I went to sleep. Maybe it has been almost 15 years from then, but I still remember every single story.

In the beginning I thought that they were stories for kids. But now that I have grown up I can understand their meaning better. They weren't normal stories. Parents shouldn't tell their kids stories with vampires and werewolves, witches and demons. So that's where the thing becomes more and more strange.

A scary and bloody reality.

A place you can't call yours.

Creatures that are living between us, beside us, in our soul.

-"Run~"

Will you stay alive till the end?

It almost 10pm. I was preparing drinks in the bar I was working. Things were still lively at this hour, but after midnight no soul went out. The stories won't let them.

-"Excuse me."

A voice said making me look at him. Two men were sitting at the bar with one of them looking at me. I walked near them and offered a small smile.

-"What can I offer you sirs?"

-"A vodca." the man with the gray hair said not looking away from his phone.

Rude.

-"I will have a whiskey." the other man with the brown hair said smiling politely.

I nodded and started preparing their drinks. I haven't seen them again in the bar. Normally only regular customers come at this hour. So I was a little surprised to see a new company.

-"Are you two new around here?" I asked them as I served their drinks.

-"Why would you ask that?" the polite man asked me.

-"I haven't seen you around."

-"We are just trying new places." the rude man said annoyed.

-"I see. Well I hope you will like this bar. It's nice." I said with a small smile.

-"I am already liking it." the polite man said smirking.

-"Well have fun then." I said blushing a little.

-"You too (Y/n)!" the polite man said smiling.

I was ready to ask him how he knows my name, but then he showed me the small sign I had on my shirt writing my name. I giggled at that and returned to my work.

Before I knew it the hours pasted and all the customers left. I was too busy earlier that I didn't see the two men leaving. But I am happy that at least they left money for their drinks or else my boss would have gotten angry.

It was midnight now. I had almost finished cleaning the place. At this hour almost no one was out so it was natural for the bar to close this early.

-"(Y/n). Will you go home alone?" my coworker asked me.

-"Yeah. I go home alone every night." I said as I locked the frond door.

-"Aren't you scared?" she asked me worried.

-"No. I got used to it."

-"My boyfriend can give you a ride." she said pointing to his car.

-"No need for that. After all my house is near. So, see you tomorrow!" I said to her as I waved.

-"Be careful!" she said before entering her boyfriend's car and driving away.

I took a deep breath and continued walking for my house. Today was a little colder than the other nights so I was happy that I was wearing my thick jacket. But other than this the night was a little strange. I feel like this every night on my way home. Like someone is watching me, but I know it's just my imagination. Or not?

The stories my parents told me came to my mind and made me shiver a little. I still wonder why they told me all that, but every time I end up at the thought that they wanted to protect me, inform me and keep me away from the darkness. But here I am now walking in it.

Suddenly the sound of something breaking made me stop and look at the alley near me tenced. It sounded from there. Someone is there. Someone is watching me right now. I was ready to run away when I saw a brown cat coming from the alley having a small fish bone in her mouth. When I saw that I sighed in relief. It was just my wild fantasy.

-"You scared me you know." I said to the cat as I kneeled in front of it.
-"Do you want to eat something better?"

Of course I wasn't expecting a reply, but by how it's eyes looked at me it made me feel like it could understand me. I pulled a piece of sausage that I had left from my lunch earlier and show it to it. The cat immediately came closer and took it eating it softly. I took this chance and pet it softly liking how soft her fur was.

-"I am not a big fan of cats, but you are a cute one." I said smiling.

The cat looked at me angrily and I felt like it was going to talk to me, but then the sound of something heavy colliding with a wall caught my attention. Smoke was around that place and I couldn't see anything, but I knew that I had to run. My mind knew that, but my body couldn't move. It was like it wanted to see what happened.

-"You think you can win?! Dog!" a voice shout walking to the smoke.
-"I always hated your kind. So now you will have to pay!"

That's when the smoke cleared. Now I could see everything clearly. The polite man from earlier had collide with the wall and was down trying to stand up, but around him were at least 10 men. They didn't seem normal. Their eyes had a dark red color and their teeth were more pointy. It matched perfectly the vampires look.

-"No way." I whispered shocked to myself.

But it seems that was more than enough to catch everyone's the attention. They looked at my direction having a big smirk like I was their next meal.

-"Run (Y/n)!!!" the polite man shout.

-"It seems you know her. Then see her die." the other man said and in fast moves he was right in front of me ready to kill me.

Is this the end?
