(Y/n)'s POV

It was another sunny day. The hot weather fit perfectly with Suna's environment and surroundings as a rather calm wind was all around the place. The day couldn't be more perfect for training. Just the perfect weather for the perfect training I was looking forward for doing.

My body was running, jumping and sliding on the ground as I kept going over and over the same obstacle course. Today I was planing to go over my limits and bring the best out of me. I had to do so if I wanted to become a great ninja that is worth to protect its Kazekage. So without thinking twice I kept repeating all that. I was so focused on it that I had lost track with what was going on around me. At that moment it was like I was only existing in this world.

-"Don't over do it."

This caught me off guard and without thinking I took a kunai and through it at that person's direction. After that I immediately forced myself to stop and look to the owner of the voice. My (e/c) eyes were met with a pair of white ones as my body relaxed at his sight.

-"Gaara don't scare me like that." I told him as I walked towards him.

-"I thought you would have felt my presence." he told me as he handed me my kunai, which he had caught with his sand.

-"Well I didn't."

I went to my bag and took out a bottle of water and drunk it right away. As I did I felt Gaara's eyes on me which made me almost choke myself to death. But thank God he didn't notice it. I would be too embarrassed to look at him if he had noticed it.

-"You shouldn't tire yourself so much." he told me as he leaned on a nearby rock.

-"I am just training." I answered as I got ready to go back to the obstacle course.

-"Let's train together then."

Once I heard his words I blushed madly as I stabled almost falling on the ground. This wasn't happening right now. There was no way that Gaara, the Kazekage, Suna's protector and my crush was going to train with me. Of course we used to train together as kids, but now things are different. It's been years since our last training together and all that became the title of the Kazekage didn't allow him to have too much free time. It's not something that I ever complained about, but all those years without us talking that much made us a little distant. It was like we were two strangers by that moment, which I didn't like at all but I couldn't do anything either.

-"I am sure that you have work to do." I told him as I turned to look at him with an awkward smile.

-"No. I actually have nothing better to do." he told me as he walked to the training field.

I blushed more as I walked in there as well. From what I understood there was no chance that I was going to avoid this. So my only choice was to face him in this training match of ours and try my best to come out as a winner.

Soon enough we reached the training field and stood there as we had some distance from each other. We looked in each others eyes as he took our fighting poses. We stayed like that for a few seconds before we started attacking each other. I used perfectly my wind jutsus as he did the same with his sand. Our attacks having a perfect aim, but failing instantly as both of us were great fighters. We could go on and fight each other like for many hours or until our Chakra was out. And judging from our powers mine was most likely to finish first, since Gaara had Shukaku inside him.

A few minutes passed as we continued fighting like that before an idea popped in my head. I blushed a little at the thought, but I had to try if I wanted to win. So with a jutsu of mine I flew fast towards Gaara standing almozt right in front of him. The first thing he thought was that I would punch him since his sand caught my hand. However, what I did was much worse. I kissed him. I brought my lips to his and connected them for a fast kiss. This made him lose control of what he was doing, so I took the chance to take out a kunai and bring it to his neck.

-"I won." I said as I smiled awkwardly with a soft blush on my cheeks.

He didn't say anything. He just stared at me flustered. So I took this chance to just walk away from him as fast as I could in order for me to avoid this awkward situation. However, I wasn't able to walk too far away when sand was wrapped around my body stopping me immediately. Then Gaara came and stood in front of me as he now had a serious look in his white eyes.

-"That wasn't fair." he told me almost in an angry voice.

-"You have to be prepared for everything in a fight." I told him as I tried to look away from him.

-"So teasing me is part of the fight?" he asked me glaring at me.

-"What?" I asked him confused.

-"You can't do that and walk away like nothing happened!" he almost shout at me angrily.
-"You can't do that without thinking about my feelings!"

I stared at him both shocked and surprised. I couldn't quite understand was was happening right now. What kind of feelings was he talking about? There's nothing going on between us and never will because of how stupid I am to tell him how I feel. So I can't understand why he took it so personally.

-"I don't understand Gaara." I mumbled as I stared at him.

-"Of course you don't. You just know how to play with me!" he told me as the sand around me tightened a little.

-"I wasn't playing!" I told him as I got scared that he was going to crush me.

-"Then why did you kiss me!?"

-"Because I like you!"

Once he heard my answer the sand left my body immediately making me sigh with relief. However, before I could do more, Gaara captured my head in his hands as he kissed me. I felt my heart beating faster as my cheeks had the same color with his hair. The kiss didn't last much but it was enough to make me melt and almost die from happiness. It was enough to make me feel happy for the rest of my life.

-"I like you too." Gaara said as he stood tight in front of me with a flustered look in his eyes.

My face got even more red than his as I tried to hide my head in his chest. My hands holding tight his shirt as a big smile was visible on my face. I was really happy.

-"So... Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked me as he made me look at him.

-"Yes." I whispered as I let us share one more kiss.

Maybe, at the end I can be something more with him. And all that because I was stupid enough to use a kiss in a fight with him. All that because I was clever enough to win with a kiss.
