(Y/n)'s POV

-"Don't cry, (Y/n)."

His voice was soft. So soft that it reminded me of the first time he told me that he loved me. It reminded me of all those moments that we passed together talking, laughing or just being there. Moments that I won't trade for anything. Moments that I treasure with my life. Moments that I want to repeat only with him.

He stretched his hand towards me. He touched my cheek and softly with his thumb he wiped my tears, repeating the same to the other side too. As he was doing that I closed my eyes enjoying the moment. I enjoyed the warmth of his hand. I enjoyed the affection he was showing me. It was a proof that he still cared for me.

-"I love you. I always did. This isn't a lie. I promise you." I said as I was staring in his eyes with a hurtful look.

-"I know. I do too." Sasori whispered as he looked back at me.

-"Say it then." I said as I leaned close to him as much as the chains let me to.

-"I love you."

After that his lips touched mine letting us share a moment of love. A moment that I wanted so much to feel, to remember and to do only with him. I wanted more from him. I wanted to feel more of his touch. I wanted to remember the pleasure his body could give me. I wanted him to remind me how much he loves me.

The kiss didn't last much. It was just a kiss, a proof of his love. We didn't need to make it last more. Small kisses from him were enough so I could understand every bit of his feelings. However, when we broke the kiss we didn't separate. He stayed close to me with his hands on my cheeks as his forehead was touching mine. He stared in my (e/c) eyes with the most loving, yet hurtful, look he ever gave me.

He was still hurting.

-"The Akatsuki are going to kill you tomorrow." he said frowning.

-"I see." I mumbled as a small bitter laugh escaped my lips.
-"You came to say goodbye, didn't you?"

-"Yes."

He didn't like this. He didn't at all. The frown on his face was enough to make me understand everything. He knew that what I did was wrong, but he didn't care because his love for me was greater than anything else.

We stayed like this for hours. Enjoying each other's touch. Thinking our last memories. Feeling everything about our love. I don't know how long we stayed like this, but after some time I got sad. I felt my heart breaking. I was going to leave this world forever. I was going to die. I wasn't sad about this. No, I wasn't at all. I think I deserve to die for my mistakes. However, the pain I felt from the thought of Sasori staying alone is something that I can't explain. It's something that I wish I could change.

-"You know Sasori, I regret one thing." I said breaking the silence between us.
-"I regret that I am going to leave you alone. I regret that you will bear everything alone. I regret that I lied to you. So if I could change something, it would be to stay longer with you and to not die, but do my punishment in some other way."

-"I wish this could happen too. The thought of losing you... it drives me crazy." Sasori mumbled frowning.

-"I am sorry for everything." I said with a soft smile.

-"We can still change that."

I gave him a confused not understanding what he meant. He stood up and pulled out from his pocket a small chain with some keys on it. He came close to me again and with the keys he unlocked my chains.

-"Sasori! No!" I said shocked as he was doing that.
-"The Akatsuki will kill you if they learn this!"

-"I know, but they won't learn a thing."

By now he had finished unlocking the chains. I knew that this was wrong and dangerous, but I took this chance and stretched my body a little. My body was getting tired from being on one position for hours. So I needed this a lot. After this I turned to Sasori and gave him a big and tight hug. I had missed his hugs.

-"Run." he said softly.
-"Get away from here and never look back."

-"But Sasori what about the others? What about when they learn about it?" I asked him scared.

-"I will say thay you escaped on your own."

-"You say it like it's the most normal thing in the world." I said sweatdropping

-"It is, because it's going to provide you freedom." he said caressing my cheek lovingly.

-"This is going to bring you trouble." I mumbled.

-"I love the trouble you are bringing me." he said and kissed me on the lips.

After our small kiss we separated from our hug too. I started walking away going to the door of my cage. Before leaving I gave him a last glance full of love. I smiled and then walked away. I wanted him to remember me smiling. A memory so sweet that will be enough to fill his heart for the time I will be missing.

See you soon, Sasori.

Author's POV

Time passed fast. So fast that both of our protagonists met again. They met under a sky full of stars. A night that both were looking forward to happening.

However, (Y/n) was there sooner. She waited days and nights patiently for her lover to arrive. She didn't mind at all. She passed through so many difficulties, so many fights. That's why when Hidan found her and killed her, she didn't fight back. She just kneeled and waited for his scythe to cut off her head. It was time for her to rest.

As for Sasori he died after a month in a fight with Sakura and granny Chiyo.. He could have won. Everyone knew that he was stronger than those two girls. Yet, he choose to give a good fight and then die. He thought that it was time for him to meet again with his lover. The only person he cared deeply for.

-"Did you wait too long?"

His voice was heard behind her making her smile. She turned around and faced him. He was there. Red hair, brown eyes and a smile that made her melt. He was really there.

-"I could have waited much longer for you to arrive, Sasori."

They were finally together.
