Chapter 10

Sam had bought white tulips for my mom ( they were her favorite). We stood at the door and knocked. My mom opened the door for us on record time.
" Zee" she hugged me and led us to the sitting room. My dad was watching the news. We all sat down and it was awkward.
" hey dad " l went and placed a kiss on his cheek.
" hey baby " he said back
" mom and dad, this is Sam Paul, my boyfriend and umm Sam this is my mom and dad Mr and Mrs Brown" l introduced them.
"Nice to meet you Sam" mom extended her hand and Sam shook it.
" It's a pleasure Mrs Brown" Sam said.
" It's not everyday where your daughter brings her first boyfriend home " she said smiling as l rolled my eyes at her.
"And call me Mae" she said as she rushed off to the kitchen.
"And call me Sir" my dad extended his hand toward Sam. 
"It's nice to finally meet you Sir" Sam said as they shook.
"Dad be nice " l gave him an eye and rushed to the kitchen leaving the boys to be well.... boys.
"Hey mom" l kissed her on the cheek. "What's cooking?"
"Your favorite "
"Mmm yummy" l said thinking of eating already. She was preparing her famous pasta and meatballs with green beans, peas and carrots cooked in brown sugar and not forgetting her famous home made garlic bread.
"Why in the world didn't you tell me that he is hot!"
"Moom!!"
"What, l love your father but that doesn't mean l have no eyes"
"But still, you are not supposed to be checking out my boyfriend!"she just laughed.
"Anyway what do you think dad is telling him?" I asked while looking at the boys. They both had very serious looks on their faces.
"Probably your father is telling him if he messes with you he's going to kill him and bury him in our backyard and no one would find out" she said casually. My eyes popped open.
"Really?" I said smiling. I knew my dad was overprotective but that's why l loved him. We (by we l mean mom)finished preparing dinner while talking and catching up.
"baby set the table for me " mom ordered me.
"Okay" l jumped off the counter where l was stirring while watching mom do her magic and went to the dining to set the table. I heard laughter and peeked in the living room to see what was happening and what l found was pretty amazing. Dad and Sam were watching a football game together laughing their socks off. My heart warmed up. It was the most wonderful feeling to find both of the man l love so much getting along. While l was still watching them mom came and wrapped her arms around me and just smiled.
" it's wonderful isn't it?" She asked
" yeah, it is" that's all l could manage to say. I was so emotional at that exact moment.
"Tell the boys to come and eat" mom said as she went back to the kitchen.
"Hey! Food is ready " l told them
"Coming " they both said in unison and switched off the tv.

Dinner was wonderful,everyone was getting along so well and l couldn't be happier. Now l was wrapped up in Sam's arms after our love making. Gosh!! I love this guy! Everything he does makes me happy. I can't help but smile when I'm with him.
"I love you" l said
"And l love you too"
"Oh, l thought you had fallen asleep "
"No, not yet, just thinking"
"About what?"
"Meeting your parents "
"And???"
"I really like them"
"I'm so glad you like them"
"They are wonderful people, l really owe them a lot"
"For what?"
"For raising a wonderful daughter. That l love so much and can't see myself living without "
I just blinked several times because l didn't know what to say.
"Good night" he kissed me softly on the lips.
"Good night " l closed my eyes and drifted off to a dreamless sleep.
