This is the first poem I wrote this month that inspired me to come back. My friend and I took a writing prompt from off the wall for fun and challenged ourselves to write something using that prompt whether it be a story or a poem. My writing prompt up above was "I saw them drive off without me..." and here arose Poem {24} Breathing the Same Air. I hope you enjoy the "fresh content."
I saw them drive off without me...
Laughing and joking, smiling
All unconcerned,
Clueless and free
Of the fact that I,
I was not with thee
I was not with them
Not in the car,
Not breathing the same air
I was not there
But they so joyously happy
Did not seem to care
To shed an ounce or drop a tear
I had been forgotten, replaced
With such grace
It would appear I was never there
I could only stand in shame and stare
And leave behind the pain
I had been left to bare
I was never present in their lives
Fair and square

~ Have you ever had a crush??
Yes.
I know.
What a high school question but, right now I'm going through all the feels and boy is it NOT fun.
With love,
D.O.
