Hi!! After going to a workshop that explored infinitives I wrote this poem based on it. The structure is very different so, let me know your thoughts.

A People
To land
To conquer
To hurt
To justify
To destroy
To obliterate
To vanish
To see
To ignore

To bleed
To rebel
To protest
To fight
To be hurt
To defend
To protect
To love
To rise above

This world is full of cruel people and as I age, my eyes have been opened to new types of hatred. In a time full of anger and bitterness WE NEED TO STAND UP AND UNIFY, AND SOME OF US NEED TO REEVALUATE OUR MORALS AND OUR LIFE. This is more than politics and a party or a prime minister or a president. This is about being humane. And no matter where you are in the world, remember: EVERY HUMAN DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE A HUMAN.

I am a big critic of this species and the repercussions of our actions. Most days I'm not pleased with living in a world like ours because frankly it's full of shit. Wars and human rights issues rattle the political structure in country after country. Differences divide nations and a people once so strong together fight each other tooth and nail.

Earlier this evening, I had a breakdown after scrolling through Twitter and seeing the amount of innocent human beings caught up in wars they have no business with. Healthy human beings living and breathing mere seconds before: dead or in critical conditions. I am tired of seeing human suffering and no change. I hope you are too.

I share this with you with to say we can rise above and hell yeah we can overcome. Centuries ago no one believed African-American slaves in the United States would be free. As a community they came together to overcome the injustices set against them. There was a time no one thought South Africans and Europeans settlers in South Africa could live together equally and peacfully. As a community they rose together. I ask of you, my beloved readers to open your ears and your hearts. Do not judge harshly with your eyes or your tongue. Please be wise and respect every human being.

I love you all dearly. But sometimes we are too blind to see the truth. If someone with a different view point desires to speak with you, please be patient and please be kind. Listen. Do not listen to respond. Listen. They could be talking crap or they could be trying to enlighten you. While I do not ask of you to change your ways to suit anyone include myself I kindly demand that you spread love, peace and kindness in your community and in the world.

There is one race;
The Human Race,
And that is the only one that matters. Let us stop looking for ways to bring people down but look for ways to brighten the lives of all those around us, one day at a time.

Please do tell me if you enjoyed the content of this poem, if you would like me to include more structure variety in my poems and if you enjoyed the structure of this poem.

~ Have you ever cried and acted upon those tears??

I think so. I cried and so I wrote this for you.

One love 💖❤😘
