daddy!josh"Daddy," the little one whispers, cold fingers squishing the man's cheeks together. "Wake uppp..."
Josh groans, opening heavy eyes. He smiles upon seeing Tyler. "Hey, baby."
"Daddy, it's Christmas!" Tyler grins.
"What time is it?" Josh asks. With a glance out the window, he realizes the sun hasn't even come up yet.
"Ummm..." Tyler giggles, flashing his daddy an innocent smile. "Six."
"Sweetheart," the man chuckles, cupping the little one's cheeks. "It's too early. Go back to bed and we can open presents when you wake up again."
"But daddy!" Tyler pouts, letting out a little huff. "P'ease! Wanna open presents..."
Josh kisses the sad look off his baby's face, letting out a defeated sigh. "Fine," he caves, "but let me make coffee first."
Tyler lets out a soft gasp. "Thank you, daddy! I have coffee?"
"No, baby, I'll make you hot chocolate. Is that okay?"
"Is perfect!" He responds, hopping off the bed and running out of the room, sock-cladded feet pounding against the wooden floor.
Josh smiles to himself, amazed with how incredibly precious his boyfriend is. He drags himself out of bed, goosebumps forming on bare skin. Trudging over to the dresser, Josh slips on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.
He heads downstairs, finding Tyler in the kitchen with a mug in each hand. One is baby blue and has the words baby boy on it and the other is dark blue and reads daddy. Josh bought the mugs for their anniversary last year.
"I adore you, sweetheart," Josh gushes, watching a pretty pink hue spread across Tyler's cheeks.
"Shush," he mumbles, thrusting the mugs into Josh's hands.
The man takes the fragile cups. First, he makes Tyler's hot chocolate. The boy sits at the island and sips his drink as Josh starts his coffee.
"Daddy?"
"Yes, hon?"
"Wanna know what I got you?"
"No," Josh chuckles, placing a kiss to the top of Tyler's head. "I'm going to see what you got me in just a few minutes."
"Okay.... Daddy?"
"Yes, hon?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Josh kisses him on the lips this time, smiling as the boy gazes up at him with doe eyes. Tyler's eyes shine, reflecting the yellow Christmas lights strung throughout the kitchen. He looks gorgeous, but that's nothing new.
Once Josh makes his coffee, him and the boy walk into the living room holding hands. And by that I mean Tyler practically drags the man into the living room, babbling about how much he loves Christmas.
