To my surprise Matt didnt take me straight back to condo. Nagpark siya sa isang restaurant malapit sa M & M hotels.
"We need to eat. This place has the best Italian food in the area, but its nothing fancy." sabi nito at mabilis na lumabas ng kotse at pumunta sa passenger side upang pagbuksan ako ng pinto.
"Nakakahiya Matt. Naka jeans at t shirt lang ako."
"You look beautiful. Isa pa kakain lang naman tayo. Its been a tough day for you. Okay lang ba?"
"Oo naman. Namiss ko ding kumain sa labas."
Matt held the door for me, guiding me through it with a hand at the small of my back.
"Ang gentleman!"
The interior of the restaurant was dim, each table lighted with a large, fat candle in the middle.
"Mr. Mariano. How lovely to see you again." sabi nung blondy na mukhang victorias's secret na model. Siya ang nagguide samin sa isang private table.
After we were seated, nag order si Matt ng beer at iced tea. And finally umalis na din yung blondy na halata mong may pagtingin kay Matt. Nakakainis! Ang OA kung magpacute.
"Flirty woman." I wanted to bite my tongue. Sa inis ko sa babaeng iyon hindi ko na napigilan ang magsalita. Ano nga palang pakialam ko kung may lumalandi kay Matthew? Baka nga gustong gusto niya pa yun.
"You mean Kate?" Matthew's expression was amused as he closed his menu.
Aba! At kapangalan ko pa!!! Grrr!
"Is that her name? Bakit sayo nagpakilala siya at sa akin hindi? She seemed much more interested in you." Shut the hell up, Kathy. Para kang nagseselos na girlfriend.
"She wasnt flirting. Im a regular customer. She has to be nice." Matt shrugged.
Ugh! Hindi niya ba halata? Bulag na ata itong si Matt eh!!! Ayoko ng pag usapan kaya nagchange topic ako.
"Anong specialty nila?"
"Hindi ko alam pero masarap lahat ng pagkain dito. Im having chicken parmesan."
I looked at the menu. Ang hirap naman pumili. Hindi pa pamilyar sa akin ang mga pagkain sa menu.
"Its so hard to decide."
Simon was grinning when I finally looked up from the menu.
"Hindi ka pa nadala ng mga manliligaw mo sa isang Italian restaurant?"
"Do I look like I dont get out much?" sabi ko sa natatawang boses.
His eyes grew dark as he shot me a look so intense, I could feel heat wash over every inch of my body.
"You are the most beautiful woman Ive seen sitting across a table from me. No one else even comes close."
I blushed. Hindi ako makatingin kay Matthew. Hindi ako sanay sa Matt na binibigay ang buong atensyon sa akin.
One word. One statement. One look...and I was blushing like a freaking teenage girl.
Napangiti ako ng hindi yung blondy na babae ang nagdala ng order namin.
"Wala ka bang pasok, Matt?"
"Meron. Hindi ako pumasok ng malaman kong nasa police station ka. It scared the hell out of me, Kathy."
"Im sorry Matt." sabi ko sa mababang boses.
"Wait, may alcohol ba tong iced tea ko?"
Matt chuckled as he glanced at the beverage in my hand. "Rum, gin, tequila, vodka...and a splash of cola and sour mix."
Holy cupcake! Hindi pa naman ako sanay uminom. Baka malasing ako pag naubos ko kahit isang baso lang nito. "Promise me you wont let me dance naked on the table when Im done."
Tinitigan ko siya ng masama ng bigla siyang tumawa ng malakas.
"Seryoso ka ba? From a drink or two?"
"Its not funny. Hindi naman ako umiinom." I told him.
Matt grinned at me. "I know. Try it. Kapag hindi mo nagustuhan, ioorder kita ng iba. And I will definitely not let you dance naked on the table, maliban nalang kung nasa condo tayo." His expression was heated as though he was imagining that scenario and was looking forward to it.
I blushed. Again.
We enjoyed our drinks and dinner with a light conversation. Nagkwento si Matt tungkol sa mga projects niya at nagkwento naman ako tungkol kay Kathy at sa college days ko.
Ngayon ko lang napansin na ang lakas kumain ni Matt. Inubos niya din yung chicken parmesan ko dahil hindi ko na ito maubos.
"How do you maintain such incredible body when you eat like a pig?" tanong ko. At huli na para pagsisihan kung ano ang nasabi ko. Kasalanan to ng alcohol eh!!
His eyes playful. "Incredible, huh?"
I shrugged. Wala naman masama sa sinabi ko. "Well, it is." Rock hard and sexy as hell. Hottest body on the planet.
"I work out in the gym at home every day."
"Halata nga. Kaya ang daming nagkakagusto sayo, isa na dun si Kate. Not the only reason, but one of them." Ay taena! Kailangan ko ng itigil ang pag inom. Kung ano ano na ang nasasabi ko.
"Women dont admire my body, my personality or anything else except my money," Matt told me in a matter of fact tone.
Sa tingin niya ba ay iyon lang ang dahilan?
"So it doesnt matter to you that youre insanely handsome, a genius, funny and extremely kind? They just want the money?" Ganun ba ang tingin niya sa mga babae, mukhang pera?
"Yes."
Nakaramdam ako ng awa kay Matt. Dahil sa tingin niya ay pera lang ang habol sa kanya ng lahat. Masyadong mababa ang tingin niya sa sarili niya.
"I want you. And it has nothing to do with your money." The words spilled from my lips without pause, uncensored.
