I hit the brakes as I started to near my base in Zone 5. My bike slowed down just as I neared the cars outside the half collapsed building.
The building was an eye sore in all honesty and I much preferred to stay at the diner. The only reason I wasn't at the diner was because of Missile Kid. I respected her choice that she couldn't bare stay in a place where the boys once lived.
I took notice of the Vaya's and Vamos bikes parked next to Val's car. I dismounted my bike and brushed past the front of the building to get to the rooms.
Knowingly I opened Missile Kid's room. Much to my dismay I found him having a chat with the small motorbaby.
"What are you doing here!"
Venom laced my voice immediately when I took notice of the white haired killjoy with Missile Kid. He got up from the floor and proceeded to walk towards me.
My stance remained firm when his hand grasped my chin to squish both my cheeks. The blood going to my head signified the anger that surged through my body as he did this.
"Is it going to be like that now," a small smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth.
I clawed away his hand and asked that Missile Kid leave the room. She did as I told without hesitation and bolted to the door. I shut the door softly as she left and locked it.
My eyes shot daggers at the man standing before me once again. His stance made me want to punch the living hell out of him.
"Don't get any fucking ideas."
He laughed, "if only your body could tell me instead of your mind ."
Something chewed at me when he said this. A small whimper escaped my mouth when I felt the guilt churn in my stomach.
Death do us part
These words replayed in my mind throughout the day. Its like a song worm had taken my mind as it's home, choosing to repeat these words over and over again.
Even if Kobra Kid was dead, it made me feel guiltier for moving on with someone else. Especially someone his team didn't much admire.
"It was a moment of discomposure," I stated flatly to him.
Nothing gave him energy to be more sadistic than filling up his tank with fuel. Which is what I was doing at this very moment. I was feeding the ferocious beast.
"You can have a moment of discomposure in my bed again," He pried for a yes from me.
My head sunk down to the floor. As my eyes danced around the floor it caught a glimpse of the ring on my finger. I fidgeted around with it briefly and tried to regain a clear mind.
He shook his head and took a seat in a chair. Getting comfortable in the chair he pulled out his gun and directed it at me.
Steadily my hand itched for my ray gun while he changed the settings to sting. His finger played coy with the trigger.
A mischievous smile was placed on his face just as he started to speak.
"I wouldn't dare touch the gun princess," his smooth voice sent shivers down my spine.
Kobra Kid's character seemed to jump out of him. This making me just realize why I had shivered.
"Val just stop, your only business here is to protect Missile, it's not to fool around."
He was intrigued with my response.
"Whatever you say honey," he got up and stood near me.
His body got pressed against mine harshly. I felt intimidated just being this close to him. My shirt was raised up a bit by the gun. I felt the gun stab into the side of my stomach as he remained eye contact with me.
I let out a breath of air I was holding in.
"Get out of my base," I sneered at him.
He snickered and pushed me aside to leave the room. I followed him to the front, but took a seat next to Missile Kid.
She silently ate a can of power pup with Show Pony. I didn't mind giving her a small smile when she looked up.
"Hey kiddo," I ruffled her hair very quickly.
I took notice of Val's small team with him outside my base. They lingered around for a bit while snickering at each other's comments. He sat down on the back of his car while Vaya and Vamos took off on their bikes.
Slowly my gaze was directed back to the ring, it felt cold against my skin.
"Why don't you give Honey what you found?" Show Pony hummed softly.
Missile Kid brightened up and went for her bag. She placed her small black bag on the chair she was sitting on and looked for something.
Swiftly she pulled out a silver ring that caught my attention very quickly. Her small hand grasped my hand and faced the palm upwards. Gently she placed the ring and closed my hand.
The ring felt light and meaningless in my hand.
I felt the piece of metal slowly warm up as I kept my hand closed. She gave me a bright smile and scurried off the to the rooms.
"You guys went back!" I shouted.
My chest heaved up heavily just as I started to hyperventilate. I couldn't bare the thought that they went back to the city and into the morgue.
"I ca-cant! Ah," I sobbed out loudly.
My body shook violently and ached to be warm again.
What felt like hours of feeling nothing finally someone had wrapped their arms around me.
At this point I was dry heaving for air as I let out horrendous crying sounds. The person holding me caressed me gently. Their voice delicately whispered to me.
"Whats wrong?"
I tried clawing the man I least wanted to comfort me away. He didn't give in and held on to me tightly.
"MY HUSBAND IS DEAD!" I cried out, "I hate him so MUCH."
"You don't hate him Honey, you just hate him for leaving you without a goodbye."
Just a quick chapter for now. I've been extremely busy this past week and didn't have much time to update until now, so I'm very sorry for that. I'll end up writing some more throughout the break so I'll be a bit more active.
