Chapter Seven: Deal
I shut my iPhone off and slipped it into my back pocket, about to continue the match I was in when I heard Bailey call me.
"Hey, Peter!"
My head perks up and I wander towards her bedroom door and see that it's open, so I peak in and see her tiny arms filled with a massive amount of clothing.
Strands of long light blonde hair were stuck to her mouth and she had a floppy smile on her face.
"Yeah?" I ask, blinking a few times to get her image out of my head.
She smiles again, "On second thought could you actually help me unpack?"
Confused at the sudden change of mind, I furrow my brows and unconsciously step inside her room.
On instinct, my hand reaches for the back of my neck and I scratch it, glancing around the wide guest room.
"I guess?" I answer, and she smirks dropping the clothes inside her closest.
Bailey picks up a small duffle bag and shoves it under her bed quickly, making me wonder what's in it but the interest quickly disappears when I hear her voice again.
"Okay, so the shorts, dresses, and blouses can go in the closet next to the jeans and skirts," She tells me, pointing to the suitcases on the carpet floor.
"I'm gonna start putting my t-shirts in the dresser if you just wanna hang those up for me?"
The offer was small and I had no problem doing it for her, so I nodded my head as she batted her eyes at me.
"Perfect, thank you!" She exclaimed.
I began to hang her apparel up faster than I should have, but for some reason, I felt rushed and under pressure.
Bailey was a mystery to me, and I guess it's because I don't really know much about this person in the guest room.
Mom never mentioned her once, but acted rather suspicious the week prior to her coming up here.
"So your mom tells me there's a girl in your law class that you like," Bailey says.
Really?!
"I'm gonna kill mom," I groan taking a deep breath.
From the corner of my eye, I see Bailey turn to the side staring at me.
"Oh don't kill the messenger she was just keeping the topics interesting," She teases.
"Sure she was," I mumble, hanging up a few pairs of pants.
I felt awkward talking to Bailey about this topic seeing as she was a girl and I usually ranted about the love of my life to the guys.
"I'm waiting," She says in a sing-song voice.
My eyes glance at hers and I gave her a blank stare.
Maybe she can help?
I mean she knows how girls think and could be my wingman... wing woman?
Huffing in frustration, I decided to just spill the beans because she would find out about her sooner than later.
"Her name is Elise if you must know, and she's a little taller than you have light golden brown eyes and dark blonde hair."
Bailey's face dropped at my observations that were embedded in my memory, but she quickly hid it with a confused look.
"And you like her?" she asks, tilting her head and dropping the pjs inside her bottom drawer.
