Chapter Thirty-Three: Why do I always do this?

I was half asleep when someone decided to knock really loud against the door.

"What?" I groaned, trying to suffocate myself with a pillow against my face.

The door squeaked open and the person walked in, closing the door behind them.

I sighed and sat up in my bed with an unamused look on my face.

Peter licked his lips and looked down at the ground before moving closer to me.

I blinked slowly at him and raised my brows waiting for the mute to speak, but he just looked around the room awkwardly.

"You've been in here like a thousand times, why are you being so weird," I asked.

He scratched the back of his neck and blew out a long breath before clearing his throat.

"I..I just-just wanted to ap- apologize for what you walk-walked in on, annd le-let you know that-that it wasn't what it looked like," He stuttered out.

I gave him a bored looked and then brushed my crazy hair out of my face.

"So you weren't making out with Elise... you were just making out with Elise," I tried, and he looked confused.

I snorted and then sucked in a deep breath before checking the time on my iPhone.

3:32 am

Lovely.

"I promise it's not what it seems!" He cried out as I got out of bed.

A night walk sounds good about now...

Peter followed me into the bathroom where I brushed my teeth and started my morning routine even though it was Monday morning now.

School.

Yuck.

"So then why were you kissing her and getting pretty cozy on that couch?" I quizzed, furrowing my brows.

I gasped, squirting the paste on the bristles.

"Better yet, why is she spending the night? In your room?" I taunted, even though this was actually making me pissed.

As usual, Peter couldn't answer me.

Pussy.

Can't even stand up to a girl who looked like a sewer rat right now.

"Pitful," I mumbled, beginning to brush my teeth.

"You know how I feel about her, Bailey-"

I winced when he said my name, and then brushed even harder against my teeth.

"-she's been my crush since freshman year and I finally got to kiss her!"

While what he said was true, my feelings about the situation didn't change.

I spit the toothpaste in the sink and ran the water to run it down the drain.

"You realize you are contradicting yourself right?" I tell him, filling my mouth with water and swishing it around.

He scrunched his brows together and I spit the water out.

"You said it wasn't what it looked like and then said you promise it wasn't what it seemed like either, and now you're saying she's your crush and that you finally got to kiss her," I explained.

Peter huffed and then groaned while I pushed passed him heading to my closet.

"I like her and I'm sorry if that's hard for you to hear but you and I are friends and as my friend, you should support me."
