Chapter Forty-Eight: I'll be fucked big time

Peter and I left school and immediately went to Owl's Creek, even though I tried to tell him it wasn't a smart idea.

Marie probably had men follow us, and judging by the black BMW that had been riding us I was correct.

"Peter, that car has been tailing us since we left school," I sighed, shaking my head as my fingers ran through my hair.

"I know, that's why we missed the turn for the park and are going to the cafe instead," He replied.

My eyes went wide, and I jerked my head to face him.

"But what about the guys-" I started.

"-They will meet us there, I texted the group chat and we're just gonna meet up there. It'll be better to show up to the cafe where it's crowded and act like we don't know anything, and then sneak off to the park."

Smart.

"So we just sit down there and be boring and then actually go to the park and then figure out a plan," I repeated.

"That's what I just said," He chuckled.

Okay, but what's gonna happen when the guys following us realize were gone? What if they have men around the building?

My face fell and Peter noticed as he began to park out front of the small cafe, still keeping his car running as we waited for the guys.

"What's going on in that little head of yours?" He asked, putting his big, strong hand on my thigh giving it a small squeeze.

I curled my lips inside my mouth and gave him a side glance.

"If it really came down to it... how would you feel about running?" I questioned.

The fact that I hadn't really prepared myself for any of this going on was kinda stupid. Like I was a princess about to inherit my parent's wealth and title, and there has been an assassin on the loose, while I've been rebelling and going to clubs.

I never gave a damn about being a Queen, it was the last thing on my mind to be completely honest.

I just wanted to live a regular life which also sounds dumb, but I would trade wealth and fame to be a nobody on the streets.

As long as Peter could stay in my life, I would give all this up.

"Like track or cross country? I love running, you know this! Anything that requires being athletic I love," He smiled.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled.

"That's not what I meant, Peter..." I trailed.

He inhaled a deep breath, and I could tell he knew what I meant from the start, he was just trying to lighten the mood.

"If you're by my side and I know you're safe, I wouldn't mind running." He told me, and I felt my heart flutter.

"I really care about you, Amelia. Your safety, your well being, and most importantly your happiness."

Awe.

I put my hand on top of his and stared into those grayish-blue eyes of his that twinkled.

"You know something?" I say, smirking to myself.

"No, I don't know something," Peter joked, taking my hand in his and intertwining our fingers.

He began to rub circles across my thumb with his, and my stomach began to clench.

These damn feels made me sick to my stomach.
