Chapter Seventeen: I'm like a sister
It was the next morning and I woke up in my bed, wearing one of my silk robes feeling my heart race.
What happened? I thought.
Panicking, I ripped the robe off and saw that the black bra I had on yesterday was still clinging to my body along with the cheeky dark blue underwear.
God bless.
I blew out a long breath of relief and slid out of bed, walking to my closet ready to find an outfit for the second day of school.
High-waisted distressed skinny jeans and a cropped red/white striped t-shirt paired with black converse sounded cute, so I changed into that and then threw on my long black coat and headed downstairs.
Peter was already eating his breakfast as usual and Holly leaned against the counter sipping her morning coffee when I entered the room.
A plate was set next to Peter filled with toast and bacon, and I smiled taking a seat next to him.
"How'd you sleep?" He asked in between bites, while he tapped through his snapchat stories.
I took a sip of the juice, and then a bite of bacon before responding with 'I slept well' and then choked down the rest of breakfast.
Peter was already placing his dishes next to Holly when I had just finished my juice, and still had two slices of bacon and toast left so she wrapped them in a paper towel for me to take along on the way.
The ride to school was silent and then I realized I had a mental breakdown yesterday so both of them were practically walking on eggshells around me.
Fuck.
"I must've passed out last night," I chuckled, scratching the back of my neck and looking out the passenger window.
Did Holly change me or Peter?
"Yeah, I found you snoring on the basement floor." He answered, clutching the wheel tighter.
Oh.
The conversation ended there and Peter sped the whole way to school leaving me with the feeling like I had done something wrong.
I hoped it wasn't a big deal that I stormed off on Holly and fell asleep downstairs so he doesn't have a reason to be mad.
I'm like a sister to him though.
Fuck.
"Can you get to class okay?" He asked as we stepped out of his car.
I licked my lips and wasn't sure if I should lie and say yes or be honest and say no, but given how weird he is being this morning I said yes and was lost for the first few minutes.
"Look who it is!" Owen called, walking towards me with Kevin.
A feeling of relief washed over me and suddenly the anxiety started to disappear as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me to his chest.
Weird.
"Little hail bail!" Kevin cooed, pinching my cheeks.
They both laughed and then I was jerked against Owen's side.
"Where's uh, millimeter Peter?" He asked me, as my sides were being crushed.
'I don't know,' I tried to tell him, but my face was pressed into his letterman jacket so what came out was-
"Ish dgonk cnowe,"
Kevin laughed, tucking his head to stare at his shoes while Owen just furrowed his brows.
