Chapter Forty-Seven: The whole slutty E-girl Vibe
Peter and I went to school the next morning, and I don't know about him but I felt tired and exhausted.
All this time I spent worrying about who knew of my identity and knowing I had a target on my back scared the shit out of me way more than when I first arrived because I had no clue that the assassin was in the US so it made zero sense to me as to why I was sent to live with the Kingston's.
Like what was the purpose of shipping me off to a country where I'm being hunted?
And hearing about Peter's background literally made us related by marriage, so I have no clue as to why we have an arranged marriage other than for money.
I got to know him more as a person and didn't like him for his wealth. I had no idea who this man was up until a couple of days ago and even after finding that out I'm still in love with him.
Him, having money doesn't change my perspective because he's the love of my life.
I linked arms with Peter as we walked through the main corridors and he looked down at me with a half-grin on his face pulling me closer.
"It's gonna be okay," He reassured me, rubbing my shoulder.
I licked my lips nodding trying to shrug the feeling away but it wasn't budging, so all I could really do was try to calm myself down mentally and talk myself out of it.
As Peter walked me to my class and we were just about to enter the room, I was shoved forward and stumbled into the painted brick walls.
Peter caught my arm with his hand but had a weird/concerned look on his face and it wasn't until whoever pushed me talked that I turned around.
"Sorry," the feminine voice spoke with a laugh.
My eyes widened when I saw that it was Marie, who could've passed for a stranger if she lost the glasses.
Her dirty blonde hair was now a shoulder-length cut dark red color, and she lost the baggy clothes, trading them for a tight black latex bando and matching mini skirt with platform shoes.
She had the whole slutty E-girl vibe going on.
(Not slut-shaming or anything)
"I would've watched where I was going but it looks like that shove woke you up, so you're welcome," She smirked, with a raised brow.
"Woke me up? What do you mean?" I asked her, with a confused face.
"Well you're a target silly, of a very bad group of people I might add," She held her hand up to her mouth as if she was whispering to me and then smiled.
Peter's hands instantly grabbed my hand and he began to pull me away aggressively, "I don't feel good, Bailey, come with me to the bathroom."
He obviously caught on more than I did since it took me a moment to get what she was trying to say.
"Oh you can stop with the fake name, I know who she is dumbass," Marie snorted, pulling something out of her back pocket before folding her arms discreetly revealing my passport.
"You-" I started, pointing a finger at her but she swatted my hand out of her face.
She grinned, "Yes ME, and YOU are gonna cause a scene if you keep being obvious because I have people watching. Correction, I've HAD people watching you. For the past three months..."
I blinked at her trying to remember every encounter I've had with Marie realizing there havent been a lot.
The party should've been a big red flag though, but I thought she just had a glow up.
