Chapter Fifty-Four: Peter I love you
It was the day of the wedding, something I couldn't have looked more forward to having.
18 years old and getting married to the only person who has ever shown me what love should be like.
For the longest time, I thought love was fake, mainly because I had never experienced it and just thought people were lying because of how quick they were to jump in and out of relationships.
Along with the fact that if you loved someone you wouldn't cheat on them, which is what a lot of people my age were doing.
Peter had left my room around 6 am to go get ready, leaving me, my mother and Holly coming in and out.
I got to wear Queen Helena's dress that was passed down to the first girl, or in my case, the only girl.
It was being buttoned and zipped up in the back by my wardrobe lady as I just stared at myself in the mirror analyzing the dress.
It was long-sleeved and collard at the neck, lace covering the whole thing down to the hem just before my ankles, but on the sleeves it was mesh.
The dress hugged my figure perfectly.
While the wardrobe lady took care of my outfit, my hair lady was busy braiding my hair into a loose, full-looking messy bun.
I held a bouquet of flowers in between my hands and just watched this all happen before my eyes.
I was actually getting married.
"Why are you smiling so big?" Helena asked me.
Mood killer, I thought.
"Because I get to marry the guy I like, is it such a bad thing if I smile?" I argue, frowning.
Helena chuckled, a hand covering her mouth to stifle the laugh.
"Of course not, It's just you havent smiled in a while," She answered.
Maybe because my life has been hell living with you.
"Yeah well that happens a lot with people who undergo oh I don't know, PTSD, depression, anxiety, the works," I roll my eyes.
Helena sighs, lowering her head.
"I didn't mean to upset you with my comment, I was just curious that's all," She mumbles.
Helena blows out a loud breath, looking around the room before resting a hand on my shoulder and telling me that she was going to check on how everything else was coming along
I nodded watching her leave from the mirror reflection finding myself sad.
"Don't frown, miss, it promotes wrinkles and you have such a good complexion," My hair dress tells me.
I snort, making myself smile as they continue to do their job.
We spent an hour getting myself ready when 7:30 rolled around and Holly came to my room.
"Hey sweetie, just wanted to check and see how you were doing with everything? Peter's excited," She informs me.
I patted the seat next to me on the bed and continued gazing out the window at all the freedom I had lost due to the assassin's and my mother being so controlling.
"I'm alright, just can't wait to marry Peter and keep being happy with him," I respond.
Holly nods and then puts a hand on my shoulder, asking me what was up.
