"Come on, why don't you go up and talk to him?" Jon says, and Dallon sighs.

"He's... perfect. He's sweet, we like the same kind of music, he likes to sing, and... so many other things," Dallon explains helplessly. Jon pulls out Dallon's wallet, takes out $6, then puts it in the register after typing the order on the computer.

"As your best friend and your roommate, I cannot watch this go on any longer. You're paying for two hot chocolates, you better use this to talk to him," Jon says, handing back the wallet as he begins to make the drinks. Dallon doesn't argue, but waits anxiously. Eventually Jon puts the drinks in front of Dallon as Dallon takes off his apron. Jon grabs it to stop Dallon from stalling, so Dallon takes the drinks and a deep breath.

He walks over to Ryan, who is peacefully writing something in a notebook. Dallon puts the drinks down, gaining Ryan's attention, then sits across from him.

"Hi," Dallon says, and Ryan smiles.

"Hi."

"Okay, so, the only movie you'll ever be able to watch is Back To The Future, or the only show you'll ever be able to watch is Doctor Who. Which is which, Weekes?" Ryan asks, and Dallon thinks.

"Doctor Who."

"Really? You'd let that be the only show you can watch ever again?"

"I'm not a show person. Plus, there's a whole bunch of different doctors. I mean, have you seen David Tennant?"

"No, actually," Ryan admits, then immediately continues, "my roommate and I watched one season. It was the guy in the leather jacket with the girl with blonde hair?"

"We're totally binge watching Doctor Who," Dallon says, and Ryan smiles. Jon catches Dallon's attention by walking over with two more drinks.

"Decided to make you some more. By the way, you should check the time," Jon says, before walking away. Dallon checks his phone.

"Oh, they're about to close."

"Oh," Ryan says, and he can't help but feel a little sad. He and Dallon have liked each other since they first locked eyes. "Do you wanna go back to my place? We can start that Doctor Who binge," Ryan suggests, and Dallon nods, smiling. They leave and Ryan calls an Uber, that soon is picking the two up. They continue talking while in the car, just talking as if this was something they did daily, catch up and act as if the other knows exactly what has been going on recently.

They arrive at Ryan's apartment pretty shortly. Dallon realizes very quickly, and points out, that he and Jon just live in the neighboring building. Ryan invites him in and realizes that his roommate is still gone.

"She's sweet. I think her and Jon would make a good match," he says. Dallon frowns. "Jon and I have hung out a bit."

"Makes more sense, okay." Dallon smiles and they sit on the couch, the lights on the Christmas tree their source of light. Ryan puts Amazon Video on the T.V. and Dallon instructs him which season to start on, as he already saw the first season.

Halfway through the first episode, Dallon and Ryan slowly move closer together. Ryan grabs a blanket the second it begins to get cold, and is forced to be pressed against Dallon so it can cover both of them. Dallon stretches his arm out, putting it around Ryan. Ryan blushes and looks at him. They look at each other, faces close and bodies touching. Dallon slowly leans in, as does Ryan. Their hearts beat fast.

Just as their lips are about to meet, the front door opens and laughter fills the air. Dallon and Ryan jump away from each other, looking up, both seeing their roommates.

"Oh," Cassie says.

"Oh," Dallon repeats, him and Ryan looking at their roommates holding hands with the other.

"You know, I think we should probably go to mine instead," Jon says, and Cassie laughs, the two walking out again. Dallon and Ryan awkwardly sit and continue to watch, both feeling a little uncomfortable.

They both feel the urge to turn and kiss the other, but try to deny it immediately. Dallon turns his head to look at the smaller boy. Ryan notices, then looks into those pretty blue eyes. They almost immediately lean close, hurriedly but gently pressing their lips together. Neither pull away for a good 7 seconds, and when they do, the same thought crosses their mind:

all because of a cup of hot chocolate.
