So, Duke and Yami both went to each sides of the arena.
"Remember our deal, Devlin. I win this, and you let Joey go. No more dog suit, no more demands." Yami told Duke, firmly.
"Agreed. Just don't forget the flip side to that coin. You lose this game, and you promise to never play Duel Monsters ever again! Now let's get it on!" Duke replied, before the machines in the dueling arena started changing.
"Duke, you seriously better make good on your promise once Yugi wins! Otherwise, you will suffer the consequences!" Marcella warned, as she pointed her finger at Duke.
"Like what, Marcella?" Duke asked, smirking.
"Like feeding you the food you hate the most: Vinegared food!" Marcella replied venomously, which made Duke grimace. He just hated vinegared food!
Just as the machines in the dueling arena were changing, Duke explained on why it was changing, "Looks a bit different than a dueling arena, huh? Well, get used to it. Dungeon Dice Monsters is a whole new game with a whole new set of rules, and to keep up, you're gonna have to pay close attention."
After the explanation, Duke laughed.
"Don't you worry. I'm a quick study!" Yami shot back.
"You better be, Yugi, because I know this game inside now, and if you wanna win, you're gonna have to learn it as well. Now let's get started!"
With that, Yami walked towards his table and thought to himself as he looked at it, 'Hm, looks pretty straight forward.'
Then a box of dice appeared in front of him, and he was amazed.
"Lost already? Relax! I'll walk you through it. That's your dice pool. So like fifteen dice from it to use for the game. I'd give you some tips on which to pick, Yugi, but being the master gamer that you are, I'm sure you'll figure it out." Duke taunted, and Yami thought for a moment.
'But with all these different colors and designs, it's hard to know which one's to choose.'
"Hurry up now. I got mine already set." Duke taunted again, before Yami aggressively picked up all of his dice.
"I'm ready too!"
"Good. Now here's how it works: These dice are gonna be kinda like your dueling deck, and just like you shuffle your deck, we shuffle these, like this." Duke advised, before he put his dice inside the Dice Automater, which Yami did the same thing.
"See? Easy! The Dice Automater will randomize your fifteen dice in groups of three. Take a look, you get three dice per round. You roll all three at the same time and then you get to make your move depending on what you roll. I'll explain more about that a bit later. Now, take the three die out of the auto hatch." Duke instructed.
Yami took the three dice out of the auto hatch as Duke had requested him to, and Duke said, "Ok, now how do you score? Well, in this game, we have heart points. They like life points, only you only get three, that's it, and whoever loses all three of their hearts first is out."
Yami glared at Duke after his explanation about how they score.
Marcella folded her arms, and she murmured under her breath, "Time to make the chimi-fucking-changas!"
"Game on!" Duke announced.
"What game on? But Yugi just now learned the rules!" Tea questioned, confusedly.
"Yeah, that's probably just how Duke likes it." Tristan replied in agreement, as he faced the cheerleaders, who were cheering for Duke.
"Go! Go! Go, Duke! Go!" They chanted, and it made Marcella roll her eyes while she rolled her finger in front of her head.
"Thanks, ladies. You're beautiful." Duke called back flirtatiously, which made the cheerleaders ecstatic at what he said. Marcella just grimaced in disgust.
"Actually, Duke, you might need to get your eyes checked, cause they're not." She corrected, smartly.
"Hey!" The cheerleaders snapped at Marcella, who just boldly had her arms folded and had a 'You think I give a shit?' type of look.
"Deal with it, ladies. You'd be beautiful if some of you weren't such a bitch or an ass-kisser, and one of you needs to lose weight and grow up fast." She retorted, coolly.
"That's why I don't like Mexicans." The brunette cheerleader grumbled, before Marcella suddenly grabbed her by the collar of her cheerleader uniform, and she aggressively slammed her back against a wall, causing her to wince and cry out in pain. Then Marcella made the girl face at her glaring face as her nails dug deep into her skin, almost scratching it. The girl just flinched in fear at Marcella's actions.
"And that's why I don't like cheerleaders, because they annoy the fuck out of me! And I swear to God, if I ever hear another word from you, I will surely spill the coffee on you! And once Yugi wins this duel, I'll be more than happy to see you and your friends cry your asses out of here!" Marcella told the girl menacingly, before she finally released her grip on her, making her sigh in relief as she ran back to the other two cheerleaders.
"I'm gonna make my first roll now, Yugi. So from here on out, you're just gonna have to listen carefully and learn as we go." Duke told Yami, tauntingly, before he threw his dice.
"See those markings there? Those are called crests. Different crests to different things. Take that green die for example, that star crest I just rolled is for summoning. To be able to summon something, at least two out of the three dice you roll during your turn have to land the same types summon crests face up." Duke explained, which made Yami shocked.
"And if I'm not mistaken, it seems I've come up with two matching summoning crests on my very first roll of the game. Now, the dimensionalizing part of the process, dimension the dice!" Duke summoned the dice, before the big dice appeared on the arena, and out came the Ryukishin!
"And there you go. Ryukishin, my very first monster is on the board." Duke announced, proudly.
"The monsters are inside the dice?!" Yami asked, in disbelief.
"And that's not all! It looks like the dice themselves are part of the game!" Tea exclaimed, which made Lea shocked.
"I'm glad that you made that point, my little cheerleader in waiting. That's one of the key elements to Dungeon Dice Monsters. For you see, once a die unfolds to dimensionalize a monster, it becomes a dungeon pathway, and with enough of this dungeon pathway, I can construct a route, a route my monsters can use to get to your heart points." Duke smirked.
Then it hit Yami, 'Oh, I get it! The way to destroy your opponents' heart points is to get your monsters close enough to attack the hearts directly! So, the more dice that I can dimensionalize and turn into dungeon path, the better! Sounds simple enough.'
Yami then faced Duke with a determined look on his face.
"Go ahead, Yugi. It's your turn!" Duke taunted.
"Devlin, don't you forget! If I win this, then you have to give my friend Joey his freedom back!" Yami snapped.
"Right, if you win. If." Duke agreed, with a smirk.
"I'm countin' on you, buddy! If there's anyone that can beat this guy Devlin, it's you!" Joey cheered Yami on.
"No talking! Bad dog!" The blonde cheerleader snapped, before Marcella took out her coffee bottle and walked towards the blonde as she touched the lid while giving her an intimidating glare.
"Do you want me to spill the coffee on you, Peckerwood?" Marcella threatened darkly, before the girl shook her head in fear.
"Then shut the fuck up! ¡Eres estúpida!" (Translation: You are stupid!) Marcella insulted, as she pushed the girl forward, and it made her stumble back.
"We're with you, Yugi!" Tea cheered Yami on.
"Yeah! All the way, buddy! Long live the King of Games!" Tristan chimed in, confidently.
