How you landed the manliest man in the class you can only guess. Your power was cool and you knew how to use it to the best of your abilities and it is how you got into class 1-a. You obviously weren't the most powerful, like Todoroki, Bakugo, Midoriya, Or Uraraka. You were average in grades and physical ability ranking 11th on the midterms and 9th on the Quirk Assessment but looks is where you fell behind even Mineta. You were easily, according to yourself, the least attractive person in UA, and Monoma made sure you knew it. That bastard from class 1-b was always getting knocked out by Kendo because of him harassing you.

You didn't fit in with many people but found solace in people like Mina, who always insisted you called her by her first name, Kaminari, and Kirishima. Mina was your best friend in the group and would always go to you whenever she found some new juicy gossip. Kaminari was someone who always had the newest freshest memes and he could brighten your day with just a simple Kermit the frog video. Kirishima was certainly the leader of the group, and he was always talking about his new manly pursuits, but he was the most observant of the group and most selfless. He was always giving up his time to make sure everyone was ok, and that is what you liked most about him, he genuinely cared.

One day out of the blue, when the four of you had gone to hang out at Mina's house, he pulled you aside to talk to you about something. You remembered the words clearly as for a day they were what consumed your waking hours.

"If I were to ask someone out, what would be the manliest way of doing it?" He asked you while blushing hard but looking completely serious. Before then you hadn't been sure of your feelings for him, but now you were, and they were crushed.

"Well, I haven't had much experience in that department, but I would say with like a small bouquet of roses and a present that would be special between the two of you." You suggested.

"That's a great idea!" He agreed, "Thank you so much Y/n." He gave you an overjoyed smile and an enthusiastic thumbs up before going into Mina's house with the others. You stood there for a moment. You hadn't exactly made your feelings obvious, but, deep down, it still hurt. You clenched your fists and shook as two single tears fell down your splotchy red cheeks. You heard the door open once more, signaling you to quickly wipe your eyes.

"You coming?" Kaminari asked you.

"Of course, just wanted to look at the" Your eyes quickly scanned your surroundings for something to be suddenly interested in, "the flowers!" You gestured towards the hydrangeas in the front garden bed.

"The hydrangeas are dead." Kaminari pointed out. The brown wilted bush was standing there laughing at you as you lamely tried to explain your fib. He stepped down to you and grabbed your shoulders, trapping your arms to your sides. You sighed as you rested your head against his chest.

"I just wish," your voice shook, "that he would notice me." It broke. You felt tears rolling down your cheek and falling on Denki's shoes, "It's selfish, I know. He and Mina are perfect for each other... b-but I can't help but wish he'd see me as more than friends." You reached out and hugged your friend, his hands moving to your back and the top of your head where he started rubbing soothing circles on your shirt and hair.
