Chaeyoung's POV

Surprisingly, I had made it to 2nd hour with one minute to spare.  I glanced at the board, but there was no chart for assigned seats.  I guess this teacher wasn't as strict, or they were just lazy.

I looked around for an empty seat, and the only one open was one next to an intimidating looking girl who was on her phone.  I nervously headed toward her direction, and asked her if the seat next to her was taken.  She shook her head, "Go ahead."

The girl turned back towards the board, and continued scrolling through her phone.

I plopped down next to her, and nervously glanced around the room.  My eyes widened when I saw my neighbor was also in this class.  Wait, was he also in my first hour?  He could have been, but I don't really remember because all my attention was on Jisoo.

"Alright class, settle down."  The teacher said as the bell rang.  "I know this is all very tedious and boring, but this will only be on the first day.  I want you all to introduce yourself to each other.  Tomorrow is when the fun will really start."  The teacher finished with a smile. The silence was once again filled with chatter among students.

I turned towards the girl who was sitting next to me. She was still on her phone. "Um, hi!" I greeted anxiously.

The girl shut off her phone before turning towards me, "Hi. I guess we should introduce ourselves." The girl's lips curled up to a small smile, "The name's Jennie. I'm a senior." She finished curtly, before looking at me expectantly.

I didn't expect her to finish talking so quickly, so I ended up stammering in the beginning of my introduction.

"Um, my name's Chaeyoung and I'm a junior. I just moved here the other day to my own complex, so I'm new to the district."

Jennie raised one of her eyebrows, "Is that so? I live alone as well."

"Oh, really? That's kinda cool." I said, smiling. "How is it? You've probably lived by yourself longer than me."

"It's not bad, it's kinda nice actually. The morning is always the best!  I've been living alone for a year now." Jennie admitted, smiling.

"Do you have a nice view or something?" I asked, questioning her choice of words.

Jennie hummed in response, "Yes, the complex I rented gives me a chance to see nature freed by the hands of humans," she smiled, "although it does cost a bit more." She added, chuckling.

"I'm jealous!  You have the chance to see the sky at its finest."  I gushed, and felt my cheeks heat up, "Sorry, I'm just a really outdoor type of person.  I love nature."

Jennie shook her head, "No, you're fine.  I just find it interesting to meet someone that loves the outdoors because I can't say the same for myself." She smiled, "I'm more of an indoors person."

I nodded, "Understandable."

Jennie and I continued to talk. I learned that she lived with two dogs (whom were named Kuma and Kai) and that she loved to take photos in her free time. Before I realized it, class was almost over, "Oh, looks like the bell is about to ring." I said after peeking at the clock.

Jennie nodded in acknowledgment, "It was nice meeting you Chaeyoung." She began to gather her things, "Do you by chance have lunch 4th hour? Because if you do, you can sit with my friends and me." She offered.

"Are you sure?" I asked. She had just met me after all.

"Of course, I think you'll like them." Jennie replied, and the bell rang at that moment, "See you at lunch then." She offered me a small smile before leaving.

Wow, I've met five people over the past two days. That's a pretty good accomplishment considering that I'm a shy person.

"Hey, did you find your first two classes today?" Someone said from behind me, and I found myself face to face with my neighbor.

I bit my fingernails, "First hour could have gone better, but I found this one just fine." I admitted which caused my cheeks to heat up.

"Yeah, I saw." My neighbor chuckled, "Actually, I was in your first hour class too."

"You were? I didn't notice because I was paying attention to my partner too much." I laughed.

"That girl can definitely be a handful sometimes." My neighbor said, nodding.

"Oh, you know her too?" I exclaimed.

He shook his head, "I haven't really talked to her a lot, but she's done a lot of things to make her known."

"Ah."  I responded awkwardly.

"So, um..." My neighbor started, glancing at the wall behind me, "I should have probably asked earlier, but what's your name? I never really caught it." His ears began to turn red again.

"Same here, I was meaning to ask you too." I admitted, nervously tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, "My name's Chaeyoung."

"Chaeyoung, huh?" He repeated, testing my name, "I'm Jungkook."
